Homemade Protein Bars...

Easy

I just finished my bars and boy, did they turn out GREAT! Here's the recipe for all who's interested:

In a large stainless mixing bowl, combine the following ingredients:

Entire box: Oats & Honey Granola Cereal
12oz: Unsalted Sunflower Seeds
1/2 Cup: Wheat Germ
1/4 Cup: Flax Seed Grandules
1/4 Cup: 100% Creatine Mono
20 Scoops: Favorite Protein Powder

Set this aside for a few - Next, break out your blender - Grind up 25 Centrum Silver Multi-Vitamins till they're like powder. Dump these in the bowl and mix everything up real good with a spoon.

Add to the bowl: 8oz Pure Honey
6 TBSP Skim Milk

Mix all this up till it's like a thick paste.

Spray a cookie sheet with Pam or something and mash what's in the bowl flat onto the cookie sheet, till it's about one inch thick. Let it set in the fridge for about one hour.

Get it out and with a pizza cutter slice it into "bars" and roll these bars in Dry Oats (oatmeal). Wrap them in wax paper, put a piece of tape on them and stack 'em in the fridge. THEY'RE FU**ING AWESOME BRO'S!!!!!! I got 42 bars, minus two I ate :p

Easy........

Good post, nice to see a fellow Tennessean on here. Making your own bars saves a lot of dough, they taste better, and you can fully customize them.

Definitely. I have an awesome protein bar recipe around here somewhere. I'll try to post it. I don't think you're going to save any cash by adding all that creatine and 25 multivite's in there though.

Those sound pretty damned tasty, but aren't they more of a meal replacement bar than a protein bar? That's an awful lot of carbs and fat.

They're probably pretty fatty I guess, I've never done an actual breakdown of nutrients. I'm trying to reach 260 by Oct, I'm eating pretty much everything I can get my hands on at this point. I'm gonna bulk for through Aug, then start cutting. BTW, I got 2 turkeys going now, one in the oven and one in a pot with some carrots, potatoes, celery, onion and spices. Turkey stew I guess I'll call it. I get pretty creative in the kitchen.

Oh man u making me hungry; hurry up damn rice cooker. I wonder how successful a restaurant aimed at the bodybuilding/fitness community would do. I think there's one in the city off park ave called "the pump" or something. Not sure if it's still there; saw it a couple years ago. Easy, you could run it and sell homemade protein bars, shakes and some high protein meals. Yum.
