how do i hit my outer thighs?

i want to know what excercises i can do (or maybe i am squatting wrong) to hit my outer thighs properly. they are lagging and it is now causing knee problems. i am currently trying the 5*5 training method. i try to avoid leg extensions cause they work the inner thigh muscles more. any advice would be helpful.

it most likely is your genetic make-up

but for me what seems to hit my out quad the best is

making sure my toes are pointed strait forward on some of my

work sets squats, hack squats and front squats are probably best
