How many of you monitor thyroid and/or supplement with T3?

I've been on HGH for the first time for a month now and feel good so far. Started with 2IU and now doing 3IU for a cut.

I've seen a few sources say you might eventually have to supplement with T3 -- have you gents had to start using T3 as well and/or monitored your thyroid while on HGH?

I was paging through the GH sticky yesterday and saw somewhere that 'they' find it's better to supplement t4 when on GH rather than t3.

Yeah - but I just happened to have conversion hypothyroidism and starting GH made that worse for me.

Before using any peds I always had pretty low energy(supposedly due to low FT3 levels) and when I got my first FT4/FT3 test my FT3 was at the bottom of the reference range. So I started adding in T4, but my FT3 wound't budge and my RT3 shot up and my hypothyroid symptoms were getting worse.

Adding in 10mg T3 really helped and I've been doing combo therapy for the past 6 months which has been great. Now I do 12.5T3/25T4 and my TSH is 1 and FT3 + FT4 are both at the top of the reference range.

I believe the consensus is that you'd want to start with T4 before T3, because the HGH will speed up conversion of T4 to T3, but like lowkey I wound't add it in at all unless you start to see your levels dropping from bloodwork or you start to get symptoms.

Roger that. I haven't started hgh yet - but I am hypothyroid and never liked plain t4 - never did get a dose that seemed to work right. Then switched to np thyroid and something about having t4 and t3 made everything work. Thyroid finally seems dialed in.

Honestly leery of doing hgh just because it might mess with that balance...

It's pretty straightforward but only worth the trouble if you're going to use rHGH long term. Maintain a steady rHGH dose. After a couple of weeks check thyroid. Like @Raiders789 basically said, as much T4 as needed to get T4 near top of range, but don't let TSH fall below 1, then start supplementing T3 of necessary to get it near top of range (or wherever you feel good).

You may actually end up feeling better since GH improves thyroid function, even if that means making hypothyroidism more pronounced requiring medication adjustment.
