How much testosterone is in Androgel? If a large packet is 5g, and it's 1% testosterone, that would mean 50mg, correct?

I've seen a compounded gel marketed that is dosed at 1ml, and contains from 150 to 200mg of testosterone per ml. Could this mean that the gel absorbs poorly through the skin, and thus the T dose needs to be higher? Or could this compounded gel intended to be "stronger" than Androgel?

Yes.

There are many factors to consider. For example, depending on the base, absorption can vary drastically from one transdermal to another.

Some of the compounding pharmacies make a stronger transdermal, but the patient doesn't use much of it.

I have seen even the 100mg /mL compounded gels leave a white powdery testosterone residue on the skin.
