How to Deadlift

Blast from the past. AWESOME post though.
I'm one of just a few guys at my gym that actually pulls deads. I have lower back problems, so for me especially i have to be extremely careful regarding form. Thankfully, the one thing that really bothers my back is higher reps (10+) so I just keep em relatively heavy and lower reps and I'm gtg. Right now I'm pulling 315 for 3 sets of 8 and everything feels great. I know I could go up in weight, but I have to be CAREFUL. I dont use wraps or a belt or anything, IMO raw is the best way to go...it will damn sure keep you honest in terms of form.

IMO deadlifts are the one movement that will increase your overall strength and explosiveness more than anything else. And if an old horse with a bad back like me can do em, anybody can.

If I had to pick ONE exercise to do for the rest of my life and nothing else, it would definately be deadlifts.. not that that would ever happen, but you get the point.

Deadlifts build back strength. Deadlifts teach you to keep your lower back rigid against a load. Keeping your back straight is critical to avoid injuries when lifting heavy objects from the floor.
