HST vs HIT etc.

I did my first 5 rep workout today. pretty easy workout but I'm sure next week will be a little different. With only doing 5 reps I really slowed down my rep speed. It's time to start gettin leaned out, warm weather comes early around here. Was only going to do 30 min stairstep on my off days T-TH-Sat. Anyway so far I like this workout. It's also nice to be squating again, maybe I can get my legs back to where they were many years ago.........11
 
Freddy has used HST while dieting with awesome results, so its definitely a dual-purpose system. 11, dont be surprised if your 6th workout at 5reps isnt your 5RM anymore.

are you saying that my strength will be better than I think? I feel I'm pretty sure on my 5 rep MR but I haven't done low reps in 5 weeks since I started HST, might have to make some ajustments as the week goes on.....11
 
Dont make any adjustments, just stick to the exact poundages you planned out in advance. To answer your question, yes, I think your strength will be above what your previous 5RM was.

B.H - B.S ? HST. During the negs do you stay at the same weight for the 2 weeks or increase the same as the others. also I don't really have a workoout partner for the negs. is this optional, or repeat the 5's again?........11
 
Ive never done the negs simply because I never have a workout partner. A lot of people will simply do the 5s over again.

I would rather do higher reps with abs,15-20 with weight. the last thing I want is big blocky abs......11
 
If you are happy with your abs or how they are responding I wouldnt change. If you dont like how they are responding give what BS said a try.
