I do chins e.t.c without straps only!just for that reason but i don t see some progress...in one month of hard training my triceps become 3 times stronger! my forearms stay the same 3 years now!

well, it could be a genetic issue, but I think there's got to be more to it, how much do you dead?

dead=396 LB WITHOUT STRAPS ,IF I AD SOME MORE MY fingers snap

bro heavy back work without straps is an ass kicker for forearms but if it isnt enough, you can do 5 sets of behind the back wrist curls and 5 sets of reverse seated barbell wrist curls every other day..just do them at the end of your workout

I have been training them like that and they are growing pretty well

Is that a max dead or a working weight dead? Moreover, are you lifting in kilos or something? How the hell did you get 396lbs with olympic plates?

Let me understand this right...

You do 6 reps with 396 kilos, without straps?

Thats about 875 pounds for 6 reps, which is just about the strongest I've ever heard of. The best deadlifters in the world, Bolton, Coan, Frank, Goggins, Kaz, etc would be very hard pressed to pull 875 for 6 reps. In fact, I've never heard of any of them doing it. I'm not saying they can't, I just haven't heard of them doing it.

So...you're either some kind of european freak who never competed before BUT SHOULD...or you're a liar.

If you really can pull 396 for 6 reps without straps, I would ease off the drugs and visit your local Olympic training center. Screw powerlifting, you could probably impress a Weightlifting coach with that kind of pull. I know JS would take you in under his wing.

So whats the deal?

EDIT: Ohhhhh...you said pounds there, I getcha. That makes a lot more sense. I was gunna throw a shit fit otherwise. I'll leave my post up anyway, its funny.

do some hammer curls, rverse curls, and wrist curls with a lot of reps. Traps and forearms are the only groups that respond well to a lot of reps. Also like said before do all your lifts with NO straps. Use your grip and thats it!

My forearms are HUGE!I got like this by masterbating EVERYNight!!!!I
suggest you do the same bro!!!LOL
Try training them twice week with diff. rep schemes and exercises.
They respond better to higher reps.Just shock the hell out of em with alot of volume and theyll grow. This is what worked for me(along with the masterbating)

Traps respond well to high intensity and low reps...look at any olympic lifter. Same with forearms...they respond to high intensity and low reps as well. Some olympic lifters have forearms the size of their biceps!

This is definitely true, although I wouldn't use the forearm/bicep comparison as an example.

Many olympic lifters intentionally keep their biceps disproportionately small. Large biceps throw off their arm flexibility, making it more difficult to "rack" the bar on their shoulders during a clean.

Ask JS about this, as like many larger weightlifters, he has a problem with this.

But yes, you're certainly correct, they do have monsterous forearms and traps.

Well, one way to keep the size of their biceps down is to only do the concentric portion of the lift, and then just drop the weight. So yeah, they don't really work the biceps. I agree, it was a bad relative comparison. But in absolute terms their forearms are big.

They do mostly concentric work, true...however in regards to biceps they just don't do a lot of bicep work period...concentric or otherwise.

A properly executed clean or snatch is all posterior chain, upper back, shoulders, etc...very little bicep work.

I know the best American Oly lifters do a lot of rows and romanian DLs as well, but still...relatively speaking...they specifically don't do a lot of direct bicep work.

I probably have the worst forearm genetics of all but this worked very well for me in the past 2 years.Im 21 now and my best forearm growth has occured in the past 2 years. How? I always used to train my forearms after biceps with very high reps. Those days are long gone (so are my puny forearms). I usually do 3 sets of wrist curls for about 6 reps each with about 110 lbs after my bicep workout. And then use about 50 lbs for reverse curls for the same amount of reps. Most like to train forearms with high reps but that didnt work at all for me at least. Try it and see how it goes.

Man, are people full of bullshit or what? I know that there are a few here that can really throw some weight but if you read posts you would think the average squat on this board would be 600, average bench about 500 and the average dead about 700. You see people almost apologize for "only" being able to squat 500# and even one guy claim he could jerk more than he could clean! I know that test is coarsing through your veins, you just broke through that 135# plateau you have been on at the bench and you are planning to start those pesky squats any day now, but lets get real for a minute. 873 lb. dead? ROFLMAO. This motherfucker couldn't pick up 800 lbs. with a crane. LMFAO.
