I dont see what part of it you disagree with? All I said is that some noobs try to ingratiate themselves to veteran members through flaming sources, its a predominate attitude around here. I stated the result is a good thing, I think we probably mostly agree. The actions of the noobs I was referring to shouldnt detract from the actions of those newer members who have been burnt and are crusading.
Go look at my first posts here and you will see why I love meso, and why I've made this my home board when there are many places where I am just a member. I was scammed too.

The alternative to what you think happens here is what happens on all the open source boards..... which is a bunch of noobs clinging to the vets & mods sucking all the source cock they can, because that's how guys gain status on corrupt boards..... They suck a little, they gain vet status...... Suck a lot, lick some balls, they might even make Mod or Admin...... I know guys on a personal level that have done it..... Just kiss ass and praise sources, and when shit goes bad just pretend its not happening.
If some noob made this the first board he joined, and he learned that looking at things with a healthy dose of skepticism is the way to go, then we did him a service that nobody did for us.
I had to learn what I know by watching a lot of crazy scams happen, stuff that you'd expect to see on an A&E crime reality show sometimes.
We can't just go with the assumption that a new source that hardly anyone has heard of is trustworthy or reliable, they need to prove it......... The alternative is a board where that approval is bought & paid for, and that always leads to trouble for the customer.

While I agree with most of this I see a certain precipice thats unavoidable in the circular reasoning that this board has acquired.
I feel the approach on dealing with new UGL's here is dealing with them in a way that the reasoning is driven by the desired out come. "The new UGL is a scammer."
FACT: UGLs come and go regardless if they are "good" or not.
So, by chasing the new UGLs away eventually in time you are left with nothing...now youre left visiting "censor boards" looking for for a source. Leaving the highest probability you will be scammed.
ANSWER: Its the nature of the beast...you have to give the UGL the opportunity to either provide the service in a fair manner of rip you off...welcome to the reality of the industry.
Bottom line, you give them a chance or eventually youre left with nothing.
Obviously there are things the UGL can do to minimize the risk to members here to prove themselves. i.e. Let vets try some of their products for review, no minimum orders (maybe just initially), handle themselves professionally and stay active in their communications with members.
Millard has a unique experiment going that is unlike other forums...time will tell.

What you're saying makes sense except the number of sources that have a presence on Meso continues to grow.
It's true Meso will quickly drive off new sources just looking to make a quick buck but they're the ones that are the most likely to scam, so they're no loss, anyway. The ones that have made it here seem to be more concerned with their long term interests and those sources tend to be the least likely to scam.
So far, Meso is working exactly like it should, IMO.

I went back and read it again. Nobody flamed Humana. BB said he didn't know anyone that used Humana and that them dropping the name of a mod from pm, a scammer board, wasn't going to carry any weight here. He was just putting up the caution flag on a unknown source. Surely you don't have a problem with that!

Go look at the getm thread. When shills posted he got called for it and they stopped. That ended the hostility. It's not rocket science.
The problem with getting the vets to test products is you can be damn sure that what is sent to a vet will be top shelf gear that will get to its destination in record time. That's how it works on open source boards, the new sources target people with status IE Mods and Admins to give away freebies too.
I have had shitty sources on this board offer me free gear, I guess they figure that if what they send me is OK then I'll turn into a mouthpiece for their lab/source...... That shit doesn't go anywhere with me.
All the labs/sources that come here know the deal, this isn't a place where money and free shit buys them free reign to say whatever they want and censor what they don't like.
If they want a free pass where everybody clings to their balls, there's a million other places where a few bucks will achieve that. I mean do we want a board where everybody goes through the toughest questioning going, thus reducing the risk of members being scammed, or are we going to just assume that all these new labs/sources that keep popping up have good intentions? I see this for what I think it is, an illegal industry full of people that have no conscience, guys like Cote that have been around for years scamming and poisoning with zero regrets about it, guys like Z that have an army of internet bots paid to convince people black is white.

I think you are reading angst into my posts which doesnt actually exist. I am on your guys' side in regards to thumbs. The last thing I want is for Humana to be successful here, true story. So dont get me wrong, Im not defending the source. I just think his biggest mistake was failing to stop thumbs from starting on argument on his behalf.
After taking my own advice and re-reading the thread, youre right; thumbs' posts coincided with BBs, which started the firestorm.
I know I sound like a broken record....but..... What happens on the other boards when a vet does the opposite, and endorses a lab/source? IMHO usually a great big source loving circle jerk.

I just dont get it. I am not disagreeing with how things were handled in this case specifically. But the general attitude here, is overly cynical IMO. Which I already have said is better than the alternative, but it is a system which I believe could be improved, by becoming SLIGHTLY more moderate. Thats all. Apparently I am not conveying myself clearly, because everyone is misinterpreting me, the problem isnt with everyone else, apologies for that.
