I cant believe it i walked into the pawn shop and first thing i seen was a black Les Paul with jade tuning keys hanging on the wall for 700$ so i inspected it, played the strings off it and then jued the guy down to 600$ and headed for home like a hell bound train with something ive wanted for the last 20 years.

BTW its a studio model Paul and looks like it was made in the 80's "ruff guess".
And is there anyway i can check the serial # with Gibson to find out what year the Paul is i just bought via internet? And im still a Fender bender to the bone i just never hade 2k to spare for a new Les Paul.

Look at the serial number and the 1st and 5th digit are the year it was made. Numbers 2-4 are the day of the year it was made and the last few numbers are what number it was stamped that day. Enjoy your new LP...i know i love mine

cool

thats cool.. like you I prefer fender,, I go back and forth between my tele and strat,,, but if the house was on fire and I could only save one,,,, it would probably be the strat,,,, maybe, who knows, i might just sit there and burn up with them..... Im not a huge gibson fan, but like you said, a great deal is a great deal,,,,But I do have to admit that The action on most LP Ive played have been really good.... Good purchase.
