FAQs I Want to Write a Source Review. How Can I Do This?

Frequently Asked Questions

Why MESO-Rx Requires Full Disclosure for Compensated Source Reviews

The MESO-Rx Forum is built on the foundation of harm reduction, transparency, and community trust. Unlike source forums, which often prioritize commercial interests and favoritism, MESO-Rx champions an open and unbiased environment that places the community’s safety and education first. To uphold these values, the forum has strict policies requiring full disclosure when Members receive any type of compensation for writing a source review. These rules ensure that reviews remain credible, objective, and beneficial for the community, rather than serving personal or commercial interests.

The Importance of Full Disclosure

When a Member writes a source review in exchange for compensation—whether it’s free products, discounts, store credit, or even cash—there is a potential conflict of interest. Without disclosure, such reviews can:

  • Mislead Other Members: Reviews that appear unbiased but are influenced by compensation can distort perceptions of product quality, service, or reliability.
  • Undermine Trust: Hidden incentives erode the community’s trust in the forum as a reliable resource for harm reduction.
  • Compromise Harm Reduction Efforts: Reviews influenced by compensation may downplay risks, exaggerate benefits, or fail to disclose critical safety concerns, putting other members at risk.
To counter these risks, MESO-Rx mandates that all Members disclose any form of compensation associated with their source reviews. This transparency allows the community to evaluate reviews fairly and maintain confidence in the forum’s integrity.

Steps MESO-Rx Takes to Discourage Compensated, Self-Serving Reviews

To prevent individuals from exploiting the forum by writing reviews solely to receive discounts or other benefits from sources, MESO-Rx has implemented several measures:

  1. Restricted Posting Privileges for New Members:New Members cannot post in the Steroid Underground subforum, which is the only subforum where source reviews are permitted. This restriction aligns with MESO-Rx’s broader forum policies on limiting Source participation to specific subforums, ensuring a controlled environment where transparency and harm reduction remain priorities. This policy ensures that new users engage with the broader community before contributing reviews.
  2. Mandatory Disclosure Policy:Members must explicitly state if their review is written in exchange for compensation or with the expectation of compensation. Failure to disclose this information is considered dishonest and against forum rules.
  3. Encouragement to Contribute Elsewhere:MESO-Rx actively encourages New Members to participate in the other 24 subforums dedicated to education, safety, and harm reduction. Building trust through meaningful contributions in these areas strengthens the community and fosters a culture of accountability.
  4. Promotion of Harm Reduction Principles:The forum emphasizes its role as a harm reduction resource, discouraging behavior that prioritizes personal gain over community safety. This discouragement is enforced through policies such as restricted posting privileges for New Members, mandatory disclosure of compensation for reviews, and active moderation to ensure compliance with these guidelines. Together, these measures reinforce the forum's commitment to transparency and its mission to promote safety and education. Members are reminded to consider whether their participation aligns with MESO-Rx’s mission of promoting education and reducing risks associated with anabolic steroid use.

A Call to New Members

If you’re a New Member considering writing a source review, ask yourself the following questions:

  • Are you primarily interested in harm reduction for the bodybuilding community, or are you more focused on promoting a source in exchange for compensation?
  • Is your goal to help keep the community safe, or to secure cheaper or free gear for yourself?
Your answers to these questions will determine whether the MESO-Rx Forum is the right place for you. The community deserves honest contributions that prioritize safety and transparency over personal or commercial interests.

Conclusion

MESO-Rx’s full disclosure policy for compensated source reviews is a vital part of its commitment to harm reduction and trust. By requiring transparency and discouraging self-serving behavior, the forum ensures that its members can rely on accurate, unbiased information to make informed decisions. This approach fosters a safe and supportive community for all users.

I've been a member since 2008 lol, I'm more of a lurker and mainly read stuff here. However, I've had a negative experience with a source I've been using quite some time and wanted to post about it. How can I go about that? It would be lovely to have that 10+ year member stamp, but I can dream LOL

Temporary Steroid Underground Access

Exception for Reporting Legitimate Negative Source Experiences

MESO-Rx normally requires members to earn posting privileges before participating in the Steroid Underground.

This requirement helps helps prevent spam or low-effort source posts from newly created or disposable accounts, shilling or astroturfing including coordinated or incentivized praise, use of alternate or proxy accounts operated by sources or affiliates, sockpuppet accounts used to defend a source, discount-seeking reviews posted primarily to obtain incentives, and other activity intended to artificially influence or distort community perception of a source.

Why this exception exists

Harm reduction depends on real customer warnings, not silence caused by posting restrictions. Preventing members from reporting unresolved problems would undermine transparency and community safety.

This exception ensures:
  • Members can warn others about ongoing risks
  • Sources are held publicly accountable
  • Problems can be resolved faster through visibility

When temporary access may be granted

Temporary Underground access may be approved upon request when all of the following apply:
  • The member is reporting a first-hand transaction
  • The issue involves delivery, payment, communication, or product quality
  • The matter is unresolved or required public visibility
  • The intent is warning and documentation, not retaliation
Members without Steroid Underground posting privileges who need to report a first-hand, unresolved issue may contact the moderation team to request temporary access.
