If anyone is interested I will give a message board link with over 5000 memebers who have gotten help and have escaped this cult.Many of these members were high ranking officials. they have been labeled apostatates and if A Jehovah Witness caught associating with them is subject for disfellowship. I am quite educated in the history and doctrinal changes and dealings of the WTS of Brooklyn if anyone has any questions I would love to help you. They will not tell you what they really believe in until you are trapped in.

I do not disagree that they are a controlling religion. However, controlling
to the point of being a Jonestown is a little silly. I work with two JW's, I am
very aware of their action of disfellowshipping and how far it can go.
Living in Brooklyn I have also discussed various issues with 2 members of
their leadership-"governing body" if you will.

Sorry, but God's love for us is not based on whether or not we repent of our sin's. God loves all of creation, because well, He created it. But His love is certainly not based on our actions.
However, acceptance into His Kingdom is based on our repentance, but that is our choice. We choose where we spend eternity, not God. That's the beauty of His Love. Here's a good analogy.
You are a Judge in the Supreme Court. Your son is on trial for stealing, and murdering. Based on the overwhelming evidence, he is without a doubt, GUILTY. Does this change the fact that he is your son? NO! Does this change the fact that you still love him? Absolutely not! But because he is guilty, you must act according to the law; because you are just, you must condem him.
He stands before you as you read his sentence, "This man will be put to death by means of leathal injection." Then his Lawyer speaks up. "Your Honor, it is my desire to take this man's punishment". Your son looks at Him in a confused state of both greatfullness and unworthyness. You ask your son if he will let his Lawyer take his place and be put to death. He realises that he now has a choice. If he says no, then his pride will be his downfall, he will pay for his crimes and be put to death (Seperation from God). If he says yes, then it is because he realises that he is in fact guilty and cannot bear the weight of his own punishment. The law would still be fulfilled and you would be reunited with your son. I was raised in a strict catholic family. I am no longer a catholic. They (cardinals and bishops) condoned molestation of children which to me is as evil of a sin as u can get. I do not want my tidings going to defend these priests and the large settlements. I think the abuse case in Boston was settled for 65 million. The report from the independent council on reforming the secrecy of molestation said that most bishops and higher ups in the church thought it wasn't a big deal that thses molestations were taking place.
Also on 60 minutes they had a show on gays in the catolic church, a priest from notre dame said that he truly has nothing against gays he doesn't condone the act but doesn't hold a grudge towards the person. He said that the majority of the priests are gay and if u are not gay u get fucked off in the ministry....u get all the shit jobs. They run out straight men. He said any religious institution that in dominated by gays is really bad. Whats even more fucked up is that the Catholic church is so aganst gays....more like hatred. Let the priests marry....thats not normal single and not love another women...u can love god and a women....My priest growng up said that the no mary provision was put in the cathloic church to prevent the monies being willed to spouses....there are execptions that people are so convicted to the lord jesus that they do live a "sheltered life of pentance" but those are execptional cases in my opinion.
I still go to the Catholic church on holidays with my family.....out of rspect for them....but when i am back home in DC i go to a non-denominational church.
Whats more important than the church is reading the bible....I actually read job tonight....what a story....will really make u think....I would suggest the NIV Study bible it has foot notes on each page that gives u more insight to the meaning of the passage.
I think reading the bible is so much more important than showing up at a church and hearing some one read a few passages....I like to go to church because it energizes me...it does give me some insight about things i did not know....Like this Sunday...the minister said u can desribe Jesus in one word Love. He love everyone! True Love. When I thought about it, it made me think....that I should treat everyone nicely....even the jackoff that cutme off on the freeway...it is a much happier way to live your life to forgive!
Also praying is so good for the soul....let jesus lead you....he will show u the reson why "thngs" in your life happened....
I am a independent but most would consider me liberal, dem.... But even though john Mcaine is a truly conservative guy....I relly like him! He speaks the truh in my opinion....like today when he chastized both parties for attacking eachother over Vietnam....hesaid that we have a war now to worry about!I believe that most liberals follow teaching of Jesus, now I know this will start a debate...ie abortion ect. But I really believe in helping people out. I mean we spen 85 billion in Iraque....now they are saying 150 billion next year and we can't give child care to a mother that wants to work....come on now....things are really out of whack in my opinion.

Healthy- I have seen their Headquarters, and as you can see from
my handle- I do live in Brooklyn. As I stated before- I know alot
about the JW Religion, simply becuase Relgion was an interest for me.
And becuase I have been fascinated by Doomsday Religions.
I would dare to say I know more than most current and ex members.
It is silly to believe that they have some secret agenda. As stated
before I do not agree with everything they teach.

I am pastor of a community church. I worked at a job where a JW was one of my co-workers. I wanted to know more about the JW's so I started asking him some questions. One question that I asked him was "Do you read the Bible for yourself, to see if what you are being thaught is the truth?" This is what he told me "No I do not read the Bible for myself and to challenge what I am being taught, or to ask questions is a sin." In others words they cannot find out for themselfs if what they are bring taught is the truth or not. The teacher is always right, and never wrong! This mind you is coming from a JW's mouth. It was a real eye opener for me!
