Don't tell them you're on Steroids. They're gonna automatically look down upon that and say that is the reason why your kidneys are fucked come on think about that, and it will go in your file, even though it's a nephrologist so it might screw your insurance. I don't think they're able to see your Quest results if you pulled them privately, but just because you have elevated numbers, you don't have to go and tell them something that's gonna make them look down on you and possibly shut you down , make them treat those elevated numbersThank you everyone for your advice. Its appreciated.
I will be going to a nephrologist tomorrow. To my understanding I should be able to tell him in confidence what I have been taking? They pulled up my records I did at Quest ( i thought they were not able to since I pulled them privately) and can see the past two tests with elevated egfr. Im sure they will have questions.
Here's my understanding. If you're in the US, no, do not tell them or they can code it as F55.3 (abuse of steroids) to your insurance company. That is unless you're self paying and you explicitly request that they keep it off the insurance record.Thank you everyone for your advice. Its appreciated.
