This is a fairly new article on weighted static stretching towards thr end of ones workout. Has anyone else used this before? I like the sound of it but 300% is a big number

M@n has t-nation been taking a turn for the worse... would expect bollox like that out of a fitness/bodybuilding magazine really

The endless product promos they jam into these article without lube has been horrible.

Only reason I go there now is for a couple of the sub-fora and the occasional solid article written by someone not being paid to shill for fucking PLAZZZMMMAAMAMAMAMA!! (drink 207 oz before every shit you take for massive gainzzors!).

T-nation sure can spout off testosterone laden bullshit

Taking away the comment section from the site a couple of months also seemed to embolden them in terms of feeling like they can post ever more ridiculous shit without the risk of even the dumbest bro calling them out right below the "article".

That is why I don't take much stock in their articles anymore. If I can't comment on an article I won't read it seriously.

Let's look at the bio of the author of that article Mitch Calvert:

"Mitch Calvert holds a degree in communications, is a certified trainer and fat-loss coach, and his blog was ranked as one of the top ten fitness blogs by Breaking Muscle in 2013. He discovered his love for fitness while slaving away as a 240lb line cook in university and has dedicated the last thirteen years of his life to fitness – the last five of which have been in a coaching capacity."

Not saying there isn't something behind the idea but the article as written is really a joke

If I recall from the article (can't hit the link now due to it being blocked) even the author disclaimed huge chunks of it since it involved bird wings being kept in a weight stretched position for days at a crack.

Cause the guy is a line cook? Or because the author sucks? Not trying to defend them in any way, but the only thing I see wrong is the story itself just sounds bad. I mean his life seems sad from just that short paragraph.

The fact they took the time and effort to mention his communication degree and time as a line cook yet neglected to mention his educational background in anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, or any other relevant degree besides saying he's been a trainer for whatever number of years. My guess is he is one of the many who managed to lose weight or build muscle and get fit and now has turned to internet marketing and a "trainer". Ppl think bc they were able to see some results they know how to coach and train others. I've seen it happen too many times. A new gym in town hired 2 "personal trainers" from the line of people getting pre-memberships. Their qualifications? None besides being jacked.

If you read the first 2 sentences you would clearly see that they are Not claiming that You will increase your muscle volume by 300%.

Him being a certified trainer is more damning than his time as a line cook.

The line cook might actually know something worthwhile.

Im a line cook..hmm,I may have to start a blog and what not as well.Sounds like a rehash of static contraction training which I never looked into because it just seemed so damn boring to me.
