Inflamed elbow

elbow has been inflamed for a few weeks now. Hurts to even try warm up my elbows with light light light cable push downs. Even 1 push-up hurts.

I have been popping 1200mg of ibuprofen a day and icing multiple times a day for 20 minutes. Not working out now and still no improvement

Anyone have an idea?

No need to stop working out.
I have been battling elbow tendinitis for years. I would keep taking the ibuprofen and keep icing it, and Stop using that arm in any pulling movements.
DB curls, BB curls, weighted pull-ups and BB rows always seem to cause the most inflammation. I have switched to mostly using the hammer curl bar and cable curls for biceps and forearms.
This has really helped me.
Now is a good time to concentrate on legs, cardio, and diet.

What's your training days or training split look like? I had to change my split up to make it easier on my elbows as I use them a lot with the tools at work.

Go to the doc.
My elbow was doing the same thing for a month straight killing me.
My wife put me on colchicine it is gout med gone in 3 days still feels great.

Doesn't hurt to pull as long as I don't go insane (shrugging 100lb Dumbbells causes no pain).

Any pushing exercise and the pain is almost immediate. Even attempting to warm up with light push downs starts to hurt.

Going tomorrow to see the doctor. Maybe time to do some deca is the ibuprofen doesn't help, which it hasn't much yet.

Workout split is:

1. Chest / abs
2. Back / calfs
3. Bicep / tricep / shoulders
4. Legs / calfs

Rest days are determined by work schedule and energy level. Usually 3 work days and then a day off but never more than 4.

More options:

Physiotherapy

Consider a cortisone shot

Look into golfers elbow and tennis elbow treatments

You on or off cycle? And have you ever used stanozolol or any substance that can harm your joints?

Any changes in the way you lift on any particular one, or any changes in routine?

Mine gives me problems when I take too long of a test proud and try to lift to hard, too fast.

Try lighter weight, more reps, and move slow on anything involving your elbow. Lift for the pump in your arms. That is what worked in my case and a buddy who I explained this to as well when he began having issues. We both like powerlifting.

Agree with you @johntt44; however, I am not sold that the OP is describing golfers elbow. I think there is something more severe going on.
@Nemesis RR, what did you learn at your doctors appointment today?

Off cycle and never have gone over 450 total milligrams. All have been test and deca.

Only change was strict diet were I dropped 5lb of fat. 5lb of fat put me around 9-10% max body fat.

I can't even do my workout warm ups. Typing this bothers my elbow.

Went to the doctor today. He injected all around it (7 shots) of an anti-inflammatory. Not cortisone. Sent me for an MRI. Thinks an old injury (10 years ago) where I hyperextended my elbow along with constant lifting is the cause.

Considered doing Deca. Even very low dosage of 50mg a week (along with my HRT dose of 120mg of test) does wonders for me. Being close to 50 deca has been a wonder drug.

The only thing that has ever given me relief with my elbow over the past two years has been dry needling (medically proven accupuncture) by a certified Dr. If decide to give it a try do not abandon it after only 1 or 2 sessions since it took about 5 for me to really feel the change. It's still sore off and on these days especially if I use a dead blow hammer at work or any kind of sharp impact swinging motion but it's not everlasting pain like it once was. I stay away from any over head pulling exercises now and stick to hammer curls for the most part I won't even look at a curl bar since it hurts to even look at one. Once in a while I will do some dumbbell curls traditional style and sometimes it causes soreness sometimes it doesn't but hammer curls are pain free.

I feel your pain brother my elbow got so bad I couldn't even lift a cup of coffee off the counter in the morning and put me on workman's comp for almost 5 weeks. Hope you find some relief soon

Voodoo floss that thing as tight as you can stand it for a minute or so at a time several times a day. Start using a neutral grip on pushing motions and throw a cuff on it. I had one aggravated for a while and that allowed mine to heal up.

Very interesting--- never heard of this-- how much dosage for the 3 days-- and did you stop the meds after the 3rd day? any recurrence of symptoms?
