I tore my pec tendon, jan 3 almost a year ago…

How long did it take most of people with injuries like such where you were comfortable going to near maximal effort? Did you ever get that? Or did you have to permenantly adjust around the injury for good?

How long post injury did you feel safe doing so?

What did you Dr tell you? I have had tendons reattached(tore 2 rotators off the bone and had a ruptured bicep fixed). The Dr said it could take up to 18 months for the tendons to full graph back. I started rehab and stretching slowly a couple weeks after the surgery. At 8 weeks the Dr asked if i was working those muscle in the gym and i said yes, he said he would authorise me to do what i was already doing on the next visit. Which was far sooner then his prognosis pre surgery. At 4 month's he told me to do as i pleased but don't get crazy as i was healing great doing my own protocols. 9 months after surgery i was back to full power but the shoulder would be achy. Started using more moderate reps then the low reps i had always used.

It depends on what you mean. So, I destroyed my shoulder benching. I think I was pretty much back to max effort by about 8 months post op. However, I was/am limited to certain movements. I can’t bench anymore, barbell or DB. But, certain plate loaded and cable machines are fine. Smith machine OHP with some decline in the bench is ok, but, no DB OHP, shit like that. Just as a reference for you.
