To start off i was a semi regular member of this and other forums.
Up until just under 4 years ago i was into bodybuilding, not 100% dedicated, but was consistent with training, good diet, though not the cleanest , high calorie etc.
Used gear for a few years and being honest, found it really interesting.
At my strongest point i could bench 150kg (plus the clips lol) for 5 good reps, deadlift 265kg for a few reps, seated press 130kg.
Loved most anabolics, especially anadrol and nandrolone, though i was most impressed with trenbolone , absolutely loved using the alpha pharma androxine/ tren suspension.
Im 5ft 11" and my heaviest bodyweight (not that it really matters) was 18.6st and I wasn't fat, by normal people standard anyway.
I was well on my way to getting the size i thought I'd need before a planned recomp.
Then....covid...ended up with covid, went back to work too soon, thinking i had got past the worst, ended up with pneumonia and then over the next few months, things started going wrong, the doctor said inflammation caused a cascade effect, my immune system attacked my thyroid and red blood cells, gallbladder inflammation caused thickening, and gallbladder has a big effect on nutritional absorption etc.
My body wasn't absorbing fat soluble vitamins and minerals and the fat in my diet not being absorbed properly, meant other issues.
my kidney gfr declined from 90 to 43.
I felt absolutely awful...random hives neuropathy, aches, pain, motion sickness, rapid weight loss despite eating a lot, i felt flat, low and fed up.
The doctors noticed that i was dehydrated and glycogen depleted badly, would be so hot in the summer, but couldn't sweat.
Doctors couldnt understand what was the main cause, but knew that the accumulation of various symptoms and problems was complicated and it was a really shit, rough, frustrating feeling and situation.
My Gp said weve done so many test, found a lot if abnormalities, but other than the thyroid deficiency, kidney function declining and a possible diagnosis of cold agglutinin disease.
He then said straight , its time to look for something more sinister and nasty, my bodyweight had gone from being 18.6st all the way down to 10st 4lb.
My testosterone levels fell to 1.7nmol and after years on forums, reading about how so many people would love to be prescribed TRT , i was referred to the endocrinologist and then while still going through a huge range of health issues and despite the evidence from over a year of blood tests showing my testosterone levels were not recovering,
I was told again, we need another test to look for signs of improvement.
The process of having a test, results sent to the endocrinologist, then waiting on a response with by post, then waiting for either an appointment or another test, months go by, and eventually, after another 2 test, my last result had been 1.4nmol, and i was ready to walk out when the registrar said ok, one more test, and then the endocrinologist said no, hes had enough, theres clearly no improvement, start the prescription today, then when i asked about available treatments, i asked about sustanon and she said nope, nebido, she says yes, but i think we'll start with the testavan gel,
i wanted injections and knew injections meant testosterone from the depot would be released 24/7, where as the gel had poor absorption and few hours after dosing, levels fall dramatically.
However, i had gone through a lot to get my script, and it was a start, and tbh i was fcking chuffed.
10 weeks later, after using one pump daily, 23mg daily, i did feel better, but i felt nothing compared to what i felt like when i had previously used sustanon 250mg or testosterone undecanoate for cruising before i got sick.
Now, 3 years after being at my worst, having been to appointments at multiple hospital, including the rapid diagnostic cancer clinic, having mri, ct scans, ultrasound , having sepsis and a pulmonary embolism in the period of sickness and generally starting to doubt the chances of ever feeling normal again.
A different doctor suggested trying a few different things, changed my meds a bit, a big change was i was to stop eating fats, no more pork belly lol
Eat high amounts of carbohydrates , and try doing some weight training for the usual benefits, including mental health wellbeing, but mainly for the insulin response and trying to get my body weight and strength levels up, and in turn the glycogen would help me with the malnourished condition and dehydration, that with TRT, tablets for neuropathy, proton pump inhibitor, pain meds and anti sickness medication, changed levothyroxine dose, i started to train a few times a week, mostly doing 3 sets of 2 exercises for each muscle group, ive been doing this for 6 weeks now, and ive also added in some dianabol here and there, and 300mg nandrolone weekly.
Thanks to muscle memory, trt and my malnourished condition, ive responded fast to training and eating more, got stronger fast, and im now getting ready to step it up a bit..
Sorru for the long post, but i hadn't really tried putting it all into words or thought about how serious my situation had become and how lucky i am to have got through it, especially the sepsis and pulmonary embolism.
Any advise will be appreciated, hope everyone is well
