Big bumps to our boys, they did a wonderful job out there and we sure are proud of them!!! However, not so for President Bush who did nothing but misleading us, thats what i think...why...? Because Saddam's capture was not the reason why we got in this war in the first place, is it? It was WMD's! Where are they? That was the reason why so many of our fellow brothers died out there... It first started with Osama, didn't get him so we went on to Iraq for WMD's, didn't get them, so at this point time is running out because presidentials are right around the corner so its like "let's give something to the people before re-election time", so then we went to Saddam and yes we got him; a much easier pray! I won't be fully satisfied until i see WMD's and i won't let Bush fool me either! But definitely a HUGE ASS BUMP to our soldiers, they did their part of the job, they followed orders and delivered like they always do, i'm proud of our military!!!!!

They WERE there...could still be..even YOUR mr.clinton said so..The Administrations most important job is to protect the citizens of the United States. They did that, and they continue in that job. No one, even the French and Germans thought for a minute that Saddam did not have wmds. The entire United Nations Security Council put into writing their belief that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction into Resolution 1441. Wmds will be found in Iraq, it just might take a bit longer than the cynics would like. ...rugdr

after over 450 us troops have died in iraq along with countless other innocent civilains there during the beginning bombing raids i can only hope what has been done has really been in the best intrest of the american peoples safety. but honestly i dont feel much safer now then i did before the war started, as a matter of fact i fear more attacks on americans will ouccr. but i hope i'm wrong.

Can you believe that walking down the street is actually more dangerous that dying at the hands of a terrorist?

Risk is: Exposure = Probabilty X Impact

Being in the same place as a terrorist:
Exposure = 0.01% (or even less, how many people did you know in your lifetime that died in a terrorist attack?) X 10 = 0.001

Being run by a car:
Exposure = 10% (it's even more, most of us had/will have car accidents in our lifetimes) X 5 = 0.5

See, the risk of being run by a car is actually 500 times higher than dying at the hands of a terrorist.

I got an American friend here (saudi arabia), he's got an intersting way of looking at things.. he was telling me the other day that there are higher risks than terrorism (dying in a fight, dying in a car accident, dying because of aids etc.).. It's all about risk management..

We went there because were at war with terrorists and countries who sponser it. Just because weapons weren't found doesn't mean that he didn't have them or got rid of them upon the imminent threat of invasion. It also doesn't mean that he didn't sponser terrorism and wasn't an imminent threat to the US and or its allies. We didn't go to war in world war 2 because we were concerned about WMD we went to war because our allies were threatened and by extention so were we. Pearl Harbor? World Trade center? C'mon I really can't believe how naive some people can be. And ain't it funny how now all of a sudden Libya who has been a real pain in the ass for the last few decades is conceding to any an all wmd inspections? HMmm maybe the instantaneous fall of the super arab power Iraq and the subsequent capture of the brutal dictator madman in charge of it is sending a message. Then again, maybe were just doing it because we want a republican to get reelected in 2004.. Too funny!

Unquestioned is one thing... Totally discounted without any objectivety to the facts is another.
I don't care if the "u s of a" as you put it has done wrong. I don't ever remember hearing about how an American President executed millions of his own people the way stalin did, or exterminate millions of jews the way hitler did, nor practice ethnic cleansing the way its done in Africa or in the baltic states prior to our intervention. I've never heard about an A Pres putting somebody into tree chipper feet first the way Saddam did!
Being completely cynical in regards to our leaders is just as stupid if not more so because its dangerous then having complete unquestioned faith in them. Hopefully the checks and balances that our own governmental system incorporates ie senate, congress, house , statewide and local governments work to keep an American Presidents intentions for the good of its people.
