Is it time for TRT? Clomid not bumping me up much anymore

I feel the time might be approaching for me to consider TRT. And if I do, I will be cruising and blasting. :)

I'm looking for other guys in or that have been in my situation and some advice.
My history summarized: 49 years old.

1. Had lower T symptoms starting about 4 years ago. T was 503 at the time with nothing.

2. Went to one of those clip joint male clinics, was put on HCG, it lowered my T to 330 and I felt like death. Quit going, did my own research and came up with Clomid cycling

3. Started 20mg of Clomid every THIRD day, (thats key, low dosing) T went up to 750-780. I felt strong at the gym and was gaining strength and muscle quickly!

4. started "cycling that dose of Clomid at 2 months on it, 1 month off. Sides were there, but bearable. After 2 years of doing this, my T was in the 650-690 range.

5. Well into my third year and at the peak of doing 20mg every third day, I've noticed a drop in my overall masculine nature so I check labs again, while on clomid at above does. T is now 585. So it's dropped significantly. I don't think it's working the same anymore.

6. Go off Clomid for 30 days and T is now 477, with nothing in my system. T at 477 has left me having serious sex drive issues and erection difficulties. Although still able to do the deed, it's just lowered overall.

I'm seriously considering to T-C injections and just cruising and blasting for the rest of my life. Or for as I can workout. I want to implement a steady plan using HCG and a A-I and monitor labs. I've never done a cycle or steroid my entire life and have actually been waiting until I was ready to go on TRT therapy to do cycles, as at that point, you're shutting yourself down completely anyhow, so why not?

Would you suggest upping Clomid first and seeing if that raises me back to where I was, or just leaving this alone and going on TRT? At 49, it's inevitably coming, so why not just do this now? I do have the classic sides with Clomid, light brain fog, occasional moodiness and such. But it's not serve. I think I'm just done with this stuff. Is there anything else I can try that works like Clomid to naturally bump up T?

I'm open to any advice anyone has.

Hey bud. Good to see you back. If you recall we were in somewhat similar places. I started my trt with test c earlier in the year.

Yeah, I remember you. Well do tell. Are you feeling better? Sex drive? Erections etc? This clomid stuff is just not cutting it anymore. Any regrets? Are you using HCG?

I get my trt from a men's clinic. Insurance covered. Every visit also includes hcg and ai if needed. So far on 150mg test c per week. Much better than clomid. From friends experience seems the test blend of prop/cyp twice per week in a split dose is better for some than a single weekly injection. Will be trying this later in the year.

If you decide to stay on clomid. My endo had me on 50mg 3-4x week.

What results were you getting for the Clomid? I might up my dose for a while and see if my numbers bounce back up before going on TRT.

Try 25 mgs of clomid every monday- wed- friday. Get tested after 2 weeks on a monday just prior to your clomid dose. That may be a good protocol.
Of course 150 mgs of test will make you feel better, why not ??? That said, there could be more side effects. Hair, prostate, and of course atrophy.
You currently have any prostate issues or hair loss?

If I were you, I'd go on TRT but would not blast and cruise. Just low dose test enanthate 35-40mg every 3 days. I was not able to tolerate more than 12.5mg clomid every 3rd day. Every time I tried to increase the dose, I'd get bad joint and tendon pain and felt almost suicidal with the emotional sides. I'm considering trying low dose nolva, but I'm not too hopeful. I've done low dose test in the past and that was better than clomid. The only reason I went off it was because I has having erection problems, that I didn't have before TRT and I needed to use Cialis all the time, which made my face very red and neck, shoulders and back stiff. Looking back, I'm pretty sure that the erection problems were due to increasing my dose too much. I started off at 40mg every 3 days, which brought my TT to 21 nmol/L. That's about 600ng/dl. I was feeling really good at that dose. I then got a bit adventurous and experimented with 50mg every 3 days, which brought me to 29 nmol/L. Although the number was better and I had slightly better workouts, I didn't have as good libido and had erection problems, so I just decided to quit TRT all together. Oh yeah, I was also taking low dose HCG along with the testosterone, which was a mistake. I don't think they should be taken together because estradiol becomes too difficult to manage. If I was to try again, I'd take 40mg test every 3 days for 3 weeks, then in the 4th week, 500iu HCG 2-3 times a week, then repeat.
If your main goal to increase your libido, DON"T BLAST! Once you come back to the lower dose, you won't feel as good as you did before the blast.

I should probably post my labs over the past two years using Clomid.

4-2015: T was 729, using about 15mg Clomid every third day. Free T was 19.9 and E was 20

11-2015 T was 692 using about 15mg Clomid every third day Free T was 17.6 and E was 19.4

8-2016 T was 648 using about 15mg Clomid every third day. Free T was 15.8 and E was 17.4

4-2017 T was 585 using about 15mg Clomid every third day. Free T was 14.6 and E was
19.2

I'm going to up my dose of Clomid to 15mg EOD instead of every third day. I think this will spike my E a little so I will use very small doses of Arimidex as needed if I get high E symptoms. I'm going to retest in in three weeks. If the numbers don't bump back up, it's TRT time. I will NOT live with my T being below 600. Not happening and higher doses of Clomid make me cranky as hell.

Any thoughts.

I just came off 6 years of TRT gels patches injections pellets and now I'm on SERM only
Tamoxifen and clomid cycled

And I feel great.

So be careful about taking clomid for granted. Natural T feels a lot better.

I'd avoid TRT if you're able to get at least somewhat decent natty test levels. I'm in my early 30's and have been on TRT 100mg/week for nearly two years now. Hasn't made any significant changes in libido like I thought it would. On a blast, I'm king of the world, but back on my prescribed dose I'm *meh*. Not bad, but not great, either.

Switching endos in a month and plan to see about coming off and trying to bring my natural levels back to normal. I'm cool with PCT'ing in the future if it means I can take a break from being a human pin cushion for a little while.

For those on once a week injections of doc prescribed test c. Have your guys tried splitting the trt dose into two per week. Better yet. Have any of you tried a split dose of test c/test p blend ?

Good advice, but I identify with being a masculine guy. I cannot do low test. I would just not be myself. Also, I'm 49 years old. I have been cycling this lower dose Clomid and my gut is telling me that if I want to hold numbers near 700-ish, I'm going to start having to up my dose and the sides get nasty when I get up on that 20mg EOD range. So we shall see. Libido also suffers, but hell, the gym is great.

Why do so many of you go on TRT, feel better and then want to stop? I mean I get that you have to tweak things, but you see this so much on here. Anyone ever go on TRT, and stay on it for years without any issues? When I go on TRT, I will be cruising and blasting without question. I've never done any cycles, or any steroids my entire life, so this would be the perfect time, as you're already shutting down.

Well I guess I just wasted my time writing out my post for you. I would have at least expected a thank you. In future, I will ignore your questions.

Good lord, are you kidding? Perhaps you need some updated E2 labs? I responded to you and complimented your post, followed up with more questions. That is good etiquette for a forum such as this. So the words, "thank you" did not hit the screen, some things are implied and equal. You're being way to sensitive my friend. I truly appreciated your response. I have indeed held out from TRT for going on three years now. But I fear that time is approaching.

1 Get Estradiol blood tests

2 Your T level ain't THAT low so there's no guarantee TRT will make you fell any better

3 I'd try some Proviron instead

Sorry, I can't see your reply to my post. You replied to Kinetic's post and in it wrote that you would be cruising and blasting without question, even though I advised you against doing that. By all means cruise and blast if you're more interested in muscle than sexual performance. You can't have both, unfortunately.

Seriously, I read your post and truly appreciated your response, as I have many times. I think you being younger than me, and the fact you've been on TRT, made the response shortened. I did address why so many on here, via a question, as to why so many on here start, or go on TRT for a few years and then want to get off it. I think at my age, once I go that route, it will need to be for life.

Going forward I have decided to up my dose of clomid from 20mg, every 3 days to 12.5mg EOD, as that will slightly increase my weekly amount from about 40mg to 50mg. Test in three weeks. Keep in mind, that for the past two years, I have been doing 2 months on Clomid at this dosing, with 1 month off it. My plan now is to continue this, but during the one month off, add 200IU of subQ HCG. I've read a lot about this priming for the testes for being kore receptive to Clomid. I know one month on HCG, will not bump up my T that much, but my thoughts are when I cycle back onto the low dose Clomid after my break, it would be more affective.
