Dude it's just a mental thing lol. Idk how to explain it to you. I know everything that shines isn't gold but when it is neatly packaged you just have greater expectations of the product.
Psychologists did an experiment where they hooked up two groups of people to a brain-scanner, fed them the exact same wine and food, and measured the responses in the pleasure center of the brain. One group received their "products" in fancy bottles, glasses, and packaging; the other in normal, mediocre packaging. The group that received their dinners in the fancy packaging had much more activity in the pleasure center of the brain (i.e. They enjoyed it more).
When it comes to my "pharmaceuticals," I find it best to remember that I'm buying a chemical, not a label. Under-ground labs are nowhere near as controlled as Pharmaceutical Companies, and I'm sure they make mistakes, but they are in the business for one reason, and one reason only: To make cash.
In China,India, etc., I don't think the government gives a shit what they sell to Westerners. Honestly, I would go as far as to say they probably have different rules regarding what they can sell domestic and what they can sell over-seas. It's not like in America where "scientists" have to resort to synthesizing restricted chemicals in a barn in the middle of the desert or something. In these countries, educated scientists can make a living openly synthesizing this shit for the sole-purpose of exportation.
Stuff can go wrong, sure, but quality sells. If they contaminated and poisoned the stuff they are selling to the west, the west would stop buying from whatever country had the reputation for selling contaminated gear. They don't particularly like westerners, I'm sure alot of them hope that all Westerners would just keel over and D-i-y-e;But, God, do they love our money.
