It's all about ME

One thing that I hadn't mentioned that's also slowing me down is I had carpal tunnel surgery 4 months ago. I seem to have lost a lot of grip strength. My hands aren't numb anymore but they aren't as good of hooks either.
It's coming back pretty quick, it's only been 4 months, but I think that's hurting me on deadlifts and a few others.

Quick question, when you guys are busy doing physical work at home, do you still work out like usual?
I'm doing some landscaping, building a wall, shoveling, carrying blocks etc. Debating stopping earlier to workout, or keeping at it and calling the work I'm doing a viable substitute.

If it's a workout day (most are) I try my damnedest to get that workout in. I typically workout first thing in the morning so if I have extra engagements that day I try to just get up earlier to get my gym time in.

Getting tired of working out at home and not having access to some of the better equipment. Went all in and got a 2 yr gym membership.

First workout there tomorrow. Hopefully I don't do any of the stupid noob stuff and get tossed out.

I'm pretty excited. I looked around a little, there's some stuff there I have no clue what it does. Things have evolved in the last 15 yrs. The little hole I went to then didn't have much other than squat racks, benches, cable crossover and a rack of dumbbells.
I saw a guy there today when I went in that was laying on the end of a bench press doing what looked like leg lifts. Not quite sure what that was about.

This? If so it hits your abs and core. All kinds of new fandangled exercises out there some that will really make you feel silly doing but effective.

Pretty much except his ass was almost off the end of the bench and he was doing it while benching. Do a few bench reps, leg lifts, repeat.

Just looked odd I guess.

Trying to improve my workout split/days.

Right now I do P/P/L/P/P/S/L.

If I take a day off or need a lighter day, it'd be on Friday(due to work conflicts), and if I have to skip I've just been doing pull on Saturday and combine legs and shoulders Sunday.

I'd like to add in another day for shoulders, and curious if I should be deadlifting twice a week, or should knock back to once a week.

Decided to combine shoulders and legs, and do them on Wed and Sat. Maybe get a day off this way. Also going to keep deadlifting on my pull days.

Deadlifted again today. Last set was 315 x 5.

I feel I can do more, but trying to keep form right, as I'd never deadlifted before 2 months ago.

Glad to see youre keeping up with your workouts. As you'll agree, it will improve your life in many ways.

I don't know if I'd encourage anyone to train 7 days a week. At least one day a week out of the gym is more beneficial, in my mind, than spending that 7th day with the weights.

As for deadlifting twice a week, I can't see why not, unless you have joint or back issues that are aggravated by that activity. But you probably don't want to max out every time you deadlift if you do it twice a week, due to the wear and tear this will cause on your body at your age.

Haven't updated this in awhile, nothing earth shattering to share, still working hard and getting slow results.

I did get some pre-cycle bloods done finally. Everything looked great except my test level is 285. I was hoping it'd be better than that.

How's deadlift coming along?

Had my second meeting with a TRT doc today. After blood work etc, he put me on 140mg of test cyp/week, 1mg/week anastrozol, and hcg.

I'm self medicating at home, so I had to do my first pin ever in the office. Went for my quad.

5 weeks and I have more follow up blood work taken.

Looks like you got crossed over now. Had to be a little odd doing that injection in the office. I think I hit the same ass cheek for like 4 weeks before I was able to venture to quads, had read such horror stories about them. You got it out of the way now tho.

I figured screw it, it was so easy to get to and staring right at me... I'd find out soon enough if it was as bad as I'd read lol.

Only hang up I foresee is I have blood tests every 90 days once everything is established. It'll be tough to run much of a cycle and be normal in time.

That part will require more reaseach and planning on my part.

Oh damn, every 90 days. Yeah that will definitely make it tricky if/when you decide to run a cycle. I would think that once you get lined out tho you should start making some good gains just getting your levels up back up to normal. You may be able to ride that out and enjoy it for awhile.

Not gonna lie tho, starting TRT made it hard to be patient for me tho. Probably should have rode it out myself.
