Joejoebaggin's HRT Log

WHY do they put calcium in mineral products?! Ridiculous!

What do you guys think of this product?
NSI Mega EFA Omega-3 EPA & DHA -- 240 Softgels - Vitacost

2 a day of these would cover 3g of epa/dha in pill form... plus i have a couple bottles in my closet.

I was mistaken about the content of my Carlson Cod Liver gel caps it doesnt have that high epa/dha content (90epa/120dha). So i would have to take a hell of a lot of them to equal 3g epa/dha.

The problem wit that fish oil is that it has double the amount of EPA than DHA.

You ideally want this the other way around.

If anything, you want at least a half half ratio.

I'm in a weird spot guys.

My nips are getting puffier by the day. Once i stopped taking vitex, puffiness really started to progress. Is there any connection between being hypo and having a high prolactin?

So i can...

1. Start taking vitex again (was taking 400mg x2 daily) and have skewed tests for my expensive visit to Dr. J...

2, Wait till i see Dr. J on the 5th and hope that whatever happens is reversible...

Is prolactin induced gyno easy to get rid of?

Yes, prolactin can induce some gyno.

Honestly, to give you some relief, you might wanna go pop 1/2 mg of adex today, one time only.

I'm reading a lot how insulin resistance usually comes along with low thyroid. This would probably explain why i feel pretty terrible when i eat a lot of fruit or sprouted bread.

Glucose 111 (73 - 113 mg/dL)

Are there any other dietary concerns i should have about what I'm eating. Should i limit fat intake in anyway? I'm eating around 60-70g of fat from coconut oil & California extra virgin olive oil. I'm taking in about my bodyweight in protein (150g).

What's complicated is that carbs directly effect T3, so if i limit them to around 100g am i kicking my thyroid while it's down?

JoJo,
I think your being to hard on yourself.

Once you get your TRT program in line, everything else will fall into place.

I have known many a High T-man, and they ate diets that were horrible, from a nutrition standpoint. Yet they were fine.

I wouldn't let this diet thing get to complicated to the point it runs your life.

Keep It Simple Stupid. KISS! Think of gene simmons [:o)]

Eat balanced meals. What I do is divide my plate into thirds. 1/3 is fruit/carbs, 1/3 is protein, and 1/3 is vegetables. Drink lots of water. And always try to eat as much unprocessed, uncooked food as possible. Humice dip has been a lifesavor. Get some fresh humice dip from your local grocer, and use it to dip your veggies in. Try and eat as much raw food as possible. Find a local sushi market. I eat tons of raw fish. Protein powder and banana + fruit shakes are great

I needed that. Thanks Plymouth.

If you haven't noticed i overthink EVERYTHING. To the point were it drives me semi-insane. I guess having low T for long enough will do that to you :p

Plymouth, i truly appreciate your help. I see Dr. John on the 5th, so I'll update everyone when i get back :D

Yep. Keep it simple man. Try and eat clean as much as possible, but again, you can't always.

For example, last night at dinner, the fridge was empty, so I ate a big mac. But I chased it down with a bunch of brocolli, and ate fruit for desert. .

Balance grasshopper, balance :D

High T men think then act, low T men worry, then think, then worry some more. ;)

Helloooooooooooo,

Dr. John is the MAN. I mean that in every sense of the word. He is a cool dude that knows an absolute ton and it is my pleasure to be working with him... on myself.

After our last VOV we found that my cortisol & DHEA are wicked high:eek:. I account this to the incredible amount of stress i have from losing my hair, band gigs, recording, and my current retail job that pays the bills before we start touring. I am SO FREAKED out about my hair which is really a vicious cycle that just continues to make things worse.

I need all of you guys to help me on this one. What can i do to lower my stress level & RELAX?

I have already started:

30 minutes of weight lifting/aerobics
added more carbs into my diet (just in case)
ordered some magnesium (any recommendations of how much to take?)
drink a lot of hot tea :p
looking into visualization relaxing techniques

You guys think of anything else?

How beneficial is Aceytle L-Carnitine at reducing stress?

Check post #44

Other than blood test pluss corrective action per that test, I also do Genova Diagnostics test.
Those tests come with a list of supplements to take for corrective action.

As Plymouth said once you get your other hormones in line Prolactin will follow suit. Increasing testosterone will naturally lower prolactin if estrogen is in check. Testosterone bolsters dopamine levels, and dopamine and prolactin are very intimately linked inversely.

Lowering estrogen will indirectly lower prolactin, so the Arimidex should help with this.

Yep, exactly.

I feel the same way about SHBG.

Note that diet must be in order and BF ideally single digit
