Jon Jones Suspended 1 Year by USADA for Positive Drug Test

Figures:rolleyes:
Looks like every decent fighter is getting popped. Probably why they sold the ufc.
Well at least I ain't got to worry about my boy Roy Nelson View attachment 52656he's grade A super natty.
"I’ve probably been tested for steroids probably more than any other fighter that’s ever fought," Roy Nelson said. "...It’s like a football program. There’s always going to be some guys where it’s like, yeah, you’re the one we’ve got to test, because then the program looks clean."

Roy Nelson comes clean on why he's the target of multiple steroid tests

Jon Jones says he unintentionally used Clomid and letrozole due to a dietary supplement that must have been contaminated. He appears to throw his supplement company sponsor GAT Nutrition under the bus:

“I've been taking the same supplements for the majority of my career,” Jones said. “I've been so outspoken about being against any type of performance enhancers. I'm still to this day extremely against performance enhancers. The whole thing sucks."

Jones thinks USADA cleared him of wrongdoing.

"Although I was hopeful for a better outcome in the USADA ruling today, I am very respectful of the process in which they allowed me to defend myself. I have always maintained my innocence and I am very happy I have been cleared in any wrong doing pursuant to the allegations made that I had intentionally taken a banned substance. I am pleased that in USADA's investigation they determined I was "not a cheater of the sport".

And just because he unintentionally used Clomid and letrozole doesn't mean he actually intentionally or unintentionally used steroids:

But the supplement company that sponsored Jones with free supplements said Jones was full of shit:

“Nothing Jon is using from GAT contains anything that is banned,” GAT Nutrition vice president Post said. “We do extensive third-party testing and we know he has been tested several times. Everything has come up clear. We have no idea what has changed in what he has taken over the last month. We don’t live with Jon, and don’t even know what the banned substance is.”

Does it suck more or less that you got caught using Clomid and Adex? At least you didn't get caught using steroids but you know you were so close to getting away with it. He has to think like damn that is nothing compared to what I was taking a couple months ago. One thing is for sure, his cycle planner is probaby getting fired.

Jones says USADA exonerated him and cleared him of wrongdoing:

" I am very happy I have been cleared in any wrong doing pursuant to the allegations made that I had intentionally taken a banned substance. I am pleased that in USADA's investigation they determined I was "not a cheater of the sport".

Not exactly true. USADA actually found his degree of fault to be at the "top end of the scale":

"Depending on the athlete’s degree of fault for the doping offense, the sanction for an anti-doping policy violation involving Specified Substances can range from a reprimand and no period of ineligibility, up to the standard one-year period of ineligibility. Here, the MGSS Panel, comprised entirely of specially trained arbitrators from the Court of Arbitration for Sport, concluded that Jones’ degree of fault was at the very top end of the scale."

However, USADA did somewhat affirm Jones claim that he took a contaminated supplement except that the "supplement" wasn't really a supplement. It was an erectile dysfunction drug purchased from AllAmerican Peptide given to him by a teammate purported to contain Tadalafil. Instead, every AAP tadalafil product USADA independently tested really contained clomiphene, letrozole and tamoxifen.
