just been put on TRT but my dose is low

Am new and just been put on TRT but my dose is low 0.25 so i wanna bumb up my dose at my own expensise since trt md wont put me higer then 0.25
I assume you mean 0.25ml, which would be 50mg. Be cautious with bumping up dose; if they see that on bloodwork they may not be too happy. Also, what is your goal with increasing dosage? Are you just trying to build more muscle, or is your current dose not alleviating symptoms?

What exactly is 0.25? What is your weekly dosage in mg? Also, go read the New Member sticky and leave a new member introduction
I've been put on 200mg a month, which is 0.25mg weekly from Wednesday to Wednesday, but I feel nothing after 2 months on it and my MD says he might think of putting me on 0.50mg weekly.

I am just trying to feel better, have a well-elevated mood and energy. My test levels were 200 before starting TRT. I assume the dose is extremely low since I feel nothing at all after 2 months on it.

Have you expressed that to your doctor? I would tell him you are still experiencing hypogonadal symptoms at the current dose. Serum levels are irrelevant to the optimal TRT dosage. Some people experience side effects at 500 ng/dl. If they're super particular they may want to see more side effects before increasing the dose. This may require exaggerating your symptoms, or find a new doc that isn't as stubborn.

Yeah, I told him I don't feel anything on the current dose, so he told me we'll do one last month on 0.25mg, then start April on 0.50mg. I had lost 150 pounds of weight from 350 pounds down to 200 pounds naturally. After all that, it's when he got me on TRT

I'd say be patient, and wait until your doctor bumps you to the .5ml. The test c you're getting, you're guaranteed to be good quality. Once you deal with underground crap, it's a never ending headache of finding the right source, hoping they're legit and not fucking up your body.

Just finished reading a post of someone thinking they got test and after months on it, their bloodwork doesn't show that's the case. They never tested the items they bought and now they're paying for it.

200 mg a month is stupid, tell your doctor to go choke on a hot dog and take matters into your own hands.
Ehh. It's pretty common to start low and increase if needed. 50mg is definitely low, but true TRT doesn't take much. 99% of people in this forum on 'trt' are on a cycle.

For most people that is going to leave them worse off than they were before. It’s an outdated strategy and does more harm than good. Who gives a shit what is true trt or not. The point is to feel better without causing adverse effects, arbitrary thresholds are meaningless

True TRT isn’t 50mg a week. Before taking matters into my own hands I tried 3 clinics over the years. They all started at 100-150mg a week. I’ve personally found I can get normal range total T with 70-80mg a week.

I agree. 50mg is very conservative, but not uncommon to start with. Many doctors also tend to over prescribe. Ultimately, you have to just experiment yourself to find what works for you; only you know how you're feeling.

This is literally what 'true' TRT is. It's not an arbitrary threshold, it's what relieves your hypogonadal symptoms without putting you at risk of androgenic side effects. This may not be a concern to you or I, but we're not doctors responsible for the wellbeing of a patient in which the over prescription of the substance in which you are providing could be of detriment.

While I don't disagree with your sentiment on the starting dose, you're telling someone that 1) literally joined today 2) asked for sources 3) reported dose in ml to "take matters into your own hands"? That's gonna go as well as a soup sandwich

Well the alternative is their doctor is gonna jerk em around by the balls. Everyone starts somewhere.
