Hey folks. Just turned 50 and wanting to get back into better shape. I'm in generally good shape, 6'1", 200, 34 waist, only doing light workouts and some running, have a fairly clean diet. Question is this: About two months ago I started taking transdermal testosterone. My T levels have gone up nicely and I want to take advantage of this in terms of routine and diet. My objective is to get leaner and then build up a bit. Since I'm a tad older now, wondering if there are diet and routine approaches that make the most sense for me? Any thoughts or advice greatly appreciated. Cheers, Jake

The same principles apply, young and old:You have to stimulate muscle growth which requires hard work.

At 50, recovery will be a challenge, so maybe a bit less volume, but intensity must still be high. Hit a bodypart once a week.

Also, at 50, I use a lot more machines. I did power-bodybuilding for almost 30 years, but now use much higher reps and more machines. Just be sure that the machine is not an excuse to be lazy. Don't sit on it between sets and text, like 90% of the fat and lazy kids do nowadays.

The 200 mg test is a good bit of advice and is considered safe by knowledgeable docs who specialize in TRT.
