Keep the gain

Hey guys, it's been a while and I'm coming back to the forum much bigger and stronger than before...clean. I'm up to 230 and I can finally squat and DL more than I bench (thank you 5x5). I got my 5 rep bench max up to 305, that's a 30lb improvement for me!

I'd like to continue gaining strength and maintain muscle size, however since I've gotten into fighting again I'd like to lose some weight. Is that possible?

It would be nice to get down to 210 and maintain my strength. Should I now look into AAS to help with this goal? Or should I attempt a different style of training? Thanks for all of the help so far.

we'll see about the lower weight class, I'd have to get to 205 for that and I'm really not too chubby as it is...definitely under 13%. Not getting tested for gear until I get paid to fight...and that'll be a while (if ever). I mainly want to lose the weight because I'll be a lot faster...

If you drop the weight chances are you'll drop some strength too. If you drop the weight to fast when cutting , you'll suffer in your matches. Endurance will suffer also when rapid weight loss happens.

I don't know your training history, but 5x5 or something like AM's dual factor strength training will be your best bets in keeping the strength and speed whilst dropping the chub.

Again, depending on your history and where you are at now, I can't say for sure how close to now your strength will be. Just remember F=mv(squared). Getting that speed up will usually more than make up for the lost mass. But that will depend on your style of fighting as well.
