Has anyone found anything to help with kidney stones. Christmas eve went to the er has a 9mm stone they had to break up to pass. Now 2 weeks ago went to the er flopped around in the lobby for 3 hours before they would take me in the er and have a 5mm stone. I have been drinking lots of water and started to take some apple cider vinegar because online says it will help dissolve them. I still havent passed the 5mm stone i think its in my bladder now. Would like to hear what anyone has done to help with this.

Never had em but I heard it feels like pissing glass, for sure stay away from soda an stuff like orange juice I also heard that makes it worse.

apple cider vinegar and lemon juice in small dosages through the day, unless you have some other type of gastral stuff going on. other then that, the only thing they will prescribe you for preventative measures is... Potassium Citrate 10MEQ. Also if you know the stone is smaller than 5mm, then get script for Tamsulosin (Flomax) it will help the stone pass more easier, as it relaxes the muscles in the bladder. don't use it if it's big stone lol

your welcome... get your urologist to do an x ray every 6 months, if he feel there is anything bigger than 5mm, then request to get Shock Wave Lithotripsy. you rather have that, then all of sudden fall over in excruciating pain. but it sucks, you can't eat anything high in oxalates and that means all berries, peanuts, rhubarb, spinach, dark chocolate... all the stuff you love and that are good for you. apple cider vinegar and lemon juice, will only help as preventative, nothing with break up that stone, once it's formed.

Sounds like you have had this happen before

If your stones are from oxalates there is an app that is use that will tell you how much oxalates are in certain foods. I get oxalate stones. I stay away from most of the foods that Softwell mentioned. I try to stay as hydrated as possible and I also use KSPtabs once a day. Lemon juice got old quick, the KSPtabs are high in citrates that inhibit the formation of crystals in your urine. They are like alka seltzer tabs you jusrt drop in a water bottle. There is an herb called Chanca Piedra AKA Stone Breaker that people swear by on Amazon, rave reviews. The reviews claim in helped dissolve/break their stones. Does it work? No idea but the reviews have me wanting to try it for the few stones I have left. Interested if anyone else here has seen it for thier stones. I have a CT scan in 5 month and was going to take a shot at it and see if it does anything. Good luck, 9mm is huge. I was able to pass my 5mm. It is an awful experience.

UDCA/TUDCA supplementation is something you would want to avoid in this correct? As it could make the problem worse. Some good information here.

Worst are these kidney stones.

Keep us updated, best of luck.
