Lab testing raws to verify compound and purity.

Im hoping someone here might have some lab background of chemistry knowledge and help me out.

Im trying to find out what tests you would run on raws to identify the compound and purity.

Specifically,
What exact tests (possibly the name of the specific test) would you run and what equipment would be used?

Melting points and shit is one thing. I want specific information on what lab test and equipment one would use to identify and check purity on raws...

A LabMax test will verify the compound, but if you want the purity you need to send it to a lab to do a Mass Spec.

Yes a mass spec test. I have a friend that works at a lab. Hes not a chemist he just has access. He said mass spec is a generic term that encompasses a lot of different types of tests.

If I could find out more specifics, what is the actual mass spec test you would do on raws and what equipment is used I might be able to get these tests done. And report back the results.

Im not a chemist or scientist so Im not sure what information Im needing. Im just going off what my friend is telling me. Im hoping someone here with a lab/chemistry background might be able to help me out.
