Hello meso crew I just wondering if I could get any advice on the this flow hood or flow hoods in general .
I have 2 new compounds to put together NPP & CYP so before I do this time I'm thinking flow hood .
How many of you use them ?
I'm looking at DIY options aswell with air purifiers sealing one to a storage container.
However the air purifier's are $300-550
By time ya get storage container sealer etc the price is up there is it worth spending the 750 on this before I order can get any thoughts on it is it over kill or a go'er.
Your advice would appreciated

i have a flow hood... i use it for mushrooms but it has radically helped to provide clean, bacteria free air. Personally I dont know if I would trust that model, I purchasedd mine on Etsy.

The average hobby brewer can diy a homemade horizontal flow hood using .1 and .3 micron hepa filter cartridges and a box fan or something similar quite easily and there's a TON of google results to be found regarding this.

Hope this helps :)

Thankyou for all your input so far so horizontal flow? I would have thought vertical flow .
Anyway I'll keep researching thankyou

Vertical flow will work only if the air is being forced from the bottom while also being sucked from the top and air pushing down can and will force any particulates into open vials/bottles etc where as horizontal air flow will force any particulate over materials.

Thankyou Jet labs yeah I'm trying to get my head around attaching air purifier to a plastic storage box.
what shape air purifier round one , square or rectangle but but it's also about flow direction the inlet out flow sealing to a box .
The round purifier's are the cheapest however not worried about price as I want to use purifier when not brewing
I was thinking just attaching to a plastic storage box maybe making better box after .
Putting in center of the back laying box down flat to have flat area I have few different types of purifier I like https://www.amazon.com.au/COWAY-AIRMEGA-300-Air-Purifier/dp/B09S311GXN

That's most expensive worrying it's over kill looks like it would be easier to mount flush laying down or this one

Or

Anyway

Get yourself a hot glue gun and high quality square or rectangle hepa filters then build everything else around that. The rest is up to you now so do ample research, get creative and you should be fine OR just spend the cash and buy a ready built one.

Best of luck to you :)

I end up going the coway 300 airmega using the plastic sleeve that comes covering the air purifier and attaching to 128L plastic container.
It worked a treat
Next time I'm going acrylic sheet I already have plans
