Large BP difference between arms

TL DR:
- my left arm 60 / 125,
- my right arm 60 / 100,
- that's a 25 difference ...
- my left arm, for the past year and a half, doesn't let blood out when drawing blood from the elbow, just some air bubbles spew out and a bit of blood,
- my right arm let's blood out normally
- I'm mostly lethargic and have low energy, on a rainy day I can barely move, ... consistent with my right arm BP

So, I've never measured my bp from my right arm, just did it by "accident" today and low behold, my bp is normal. Normal in terms, that there is a normal 40 point difference between the sys and dia and not the 65 points difference on the left arm which is indicative for old stiff veins.

Any experts on the matter here? Should I be worried? Obviously I'm reporting this to my doc, but would still like to come to here with as much education on the topic as possible as she usually just doesn't react to anything for real ... The internet is, off course, unequivocally saying that I'll have a heart attack ... : D Appreciate any input? Tnx

Some say it could be a sign of a clot when one arm has a drastically different reading compared to the other.

Could also be that your left arm is too big for the standard cuff. Are you left handed?

No, my left arm is actually smaller. And it's freaking impossible to get it bigger. Like the cns is not active enough (or maybe not enough blood flow lol).

I am measuring above the elbow with 100$ device, so not the cheapest ...

Have you had your doctor take your BP and witnessed the same thing? Hate to say it, but they probably won’t really have an answer. I’ve got the same thing going on and they were clueless.

Damn, rly? What's the difference between your arms? Does one of your arms also not let blood out? My bp used to be normal in my left arm ... This is something new ...

* No, not yet.

Mister Super is right, this could be the sign of a clot. Please see a doctor and explain what’s going on. You don’t want that to grow any bigger and rupture, or go to your lungs and end it all.

Yeah. Tnx. I'm thinking from all those bloods that I did, and I really did a chit load, that one time the nurse punctured the vein, I remember my elbow twitching for two days and having a hematoma ... maybe something like that, could have caused a cloth to form ...

Or COVID, or the COVID vaccine… both can cause clots, but COVID itself causes it far more often than the vaccine. We’ve basically all had it by now.

I am still dealing with COVID issues, it almost killed me. Not gonna fuck around and find out anymore.

But this reading could be nothing but a problem with your home BP monitor. I used to have this problem and I went doctor and they checked both sides and it was fine.

Damn, almost killed you! Mine was more like a weird flu ... It's such a shitty virus not knowing how it will affect you. I mean, unless you're fat and have problems with your respiratory system ...

No, I've had this problem before covid, I mean, the left arm not letting blood out. Idk what the pressure was. It's not the monitor, had it checked with another one and it's the same difference ...

One of the reasons obese people die at higher rates than anyone else with COVID is they have more cells in their body.

I am at 24-25% BF, so yes, more cells. The next problem is that I’m 6’10”, so even more cells… I got pneumonia in both lungs but fully recovered since I was vaccinated. Doc said I’d be dead otherwise.

Yeah, see a doctor and explain all your concerns. If they dismiss them or you’re not satisfied with the results, find another doctor. It’s unlikely two doctors will both tell you to fuck off.

You do not have a clot in your arm. You would have numerous other symptoms, such as pain, tenderness to touch, redness, swelling, bruising, etc. Are you diabetic? Could be a symptom of narrowing of arteries, or diabetes, but you don’t have a clot. Go to the doctor and have it measured there. I would put the worry of a clot out of your mind. Seen clots in arms many times at my work, and they always have at least one of the symptoms I listed.

The reason obese people die from Covid is because they have higher levels of inflammation to begin with, and their respiratory, cardiovascular and especially immune function are often times impaired to begin with.

Believe it or not, my right arm is stronger but has always lagged in development to my left. I’ve always had to do extra reps to make it even. The doctor gave me some absurd excuse like my left arm is closer to my heart so the pressure is higher.

Exactly what I was going to say.

Best of luck.

More than likely it’s nothing and I hope it is for you. But it never hurts to check.

I take it you're a medical professional?

But, my left arm's vein is clogged up, if blood wont come out? I tried it again last time, at the doctors when doing bloods, and there were like only bubbles, a little bit of blood and short bursts off pressurized air spewing out. Like, exactly how you'd expect a clogged up thing, ... to behave : ) I mean, maybe it's not a clog but it's scar tissue or something? I

n any case, could this one non functioning vein mess up the pressure monitor readings? This is the main vain in the middle of the elbow which then goes along the inner side of the bicep, exactly where the pressure monitor is taking the measurement.

Tnx, appreciate your input!

No. However, ever since my last rhGH run, last spring, my BP has been really low, it's really hard being active and my skating has gone downhill cuz I have no speed and explosiveness. I'm also foggy most the time after that run and especially after I eat carbs, I'm brain dead. This has now cleared, since I started taking nicergoline a week a go. But no, my BP is definitely low, and not high; as my left arm measurements are indicating.
