Alot of kids become cops because they think they can get away with anything and they want to have the feeling of power that they never felt before,but that shit gets old very fast. It's a shitty job.The pay is shit,the hrs are shit,and you have to constantly deal with shit. I give credit to all the good cops out there,but all those cops who don't practice what they preech should be kicked in the nuts.Alot of 50 and 60 yr old cops...even some 40yr old ones that i know are miserable bastards.Nice guys but miserable.They hate their jobs,lifes,and their wifes,But i love my job,love my life(and myself),and i've only been married for 1yr so...Ummm yeah let's just leave it at that ;-)MANWHORE said:

I went home a couple years ago to visit family. I was downtown at 1AM in TRAFIC WTF all caused by the Big Dig. Anyhow Im trying to get over in a different lane (where I live now people nod with a smile and let you in) well this well dressed lady in a BMW is beside me, I smile at her in hopes that she will let me in...she replys by flippin me the Bird. they don't start with over $35,000 here,and a big chunk of that goes toward their pension. Even for $50,000 i wouldn't do it now. I wanted to be a cop when i was younger,but i found i can make more money doing something else and accually enjoy myself while doing it. I never did like the 9-5 job having a boss watching over me. I knew if i was going to make some real money,i would have to be my own boss,so that's what i'm doing. It's the only way to live,as far as i'm concerned. Make your own hrs,not have to worry about getting laid off,and make alot more money than you could make by working for someone else. Most people would like that 9-5 job feeling secure with weekly paychecks and that's understandable. I don't care about pensions,i want to live my life now,not when i'm 60...... and besides,i don't like seeing people get hurt,that's another reason for me not wanting to be a cop.you have to see alot of people at their worst.Sometimes you see car accidents and homicides. cops do just fine. starting salaries are generally damn good, benefits are generally great, and if they hustle and take detail they're doing even better. obviously it varies geographically.
and MH - if you never hit the lottery - the next best thing is a full government pension. it costs on average over $1mil to retire, and that's without healthcare. we'd all be so lucky.

Wow i did not get the responces that i hoped for from some of u guys. First of all i am done with taking AAS i just wanted to know since i have taken in the past would it get me in trouble when i take the test? But don't answer I don't want o get anymore shithead responces. Get a real job.....who ever fucking said that is a joke. Yes some police men are no good but a lot are out there to protect your fucking rights. That is a real job and taking that chance that u might not come home that day from work is enough to show for. I myself don't like a lot of cops but i am becoming one so i can try to make things better on the streets. No i am not going to be a dickhead cop, and i have found out that they do not test for aas unless u are going in FBI, CIA, etc. To those of you that respond serious thank you. peace bros!
