Leadville 100

I know this isn't the best site to ask about this. Anyone ever heard of this or done it? It is a 100 mile race through the mountains of Colorado. I am going to do it but am worried that I will shrivel up and look like a runner, not that I am huge by any means. Any runners here that are in to lifting also? Maybe the two don't mix at all. I don't know. Also, didn't know if test will help, hurt, or not matter with training. I will still be lifting, probably lower weight, higher reps. Any help or comments appreciated.

I lift and run, however I only do triathlons and short races. I also manage to stay fairly big, but that would be near impossible if I upped my distances any (I run about 4 miles a day at a 6:40 pace). If you start training to run an ultra-marathon or such, you will most deffinatly lose size. I don't think AAS is the way you want to go either. Test does not really provide anything all that benificial for a super distance runner. My suggestion is to continue lifting what you can as much as you can, eat ALOT, and do your running. I hope this helps you out some. Feel free to ask any more questions.

That's a long distance to run, and I'm sure you will train extensively to prepare. You're probably going to lose size. That's just the way it is w/ long distance runners. Take a look at the guys who run marathons and stuff compared to sprinters. Huge difference in muscle size. If it's something you only want to do once, I'd say fuck the size for now an accomplish your goal.
But, if you want to be a long distance runner and be big/muscular, I think
you're going to have to make a decision on which you want more.

Guess I will hold off on my next cycle. Probabaly would be a waste of money. I have been to some of the ultrarunner sites. Those guys run upwards of 100 miles a week! All the time.
