I think Low-fat-diet means you should go for a balanced diet so as to feed the muscles with the compulsory nourishment to lose fat and develop muscles. Eating carbohydrate food at night should be avoided in order to build muscles and lose fat.Get abs fast

You are 6'2 and 185...and you are starting a cutting cycle...Umm how much did you want to weigh??

As a good rule of thumb, you need a balance of macronutrients. Protein, carbs, and Fats.

Fat as a nutrient is essential and should be the last one cut out, unless its your primary source of calories.

Protein is found in several sources such as chicken, eggs, beef and pork, but the common problem amongst all of them is an excess in fat and cholesterol. Having protein is important, but taking in the high amounts of fat and cholesterol is not healthy. You must find a way to separate as much fat and cholesterol in those foods to live a healthier life. A solution to that is protein powder, which is lower in fat and cholesterol and is a healthy alternative to a meal. Protein powder can be mixed with water or milk, and it can also be put into a shake or smoothie.

I dont agree.
Protein powders should never be substitutes for meals.Protein powders are necessary fro fast absortion of proteins and other beneficial vits and mins pre/post workout.Having a healthy balanced diet doesn't consist of meal alternatives.

I second what drewbolic said, why would you substitute a protein shake for a meal, that's crazy. Chicken, egg whites, turkey, lean beef, tuna, and white fish are all excellent sources of protein and not high in fat. The key to diet is balance. Most people have weight problems because of empty caloric drinks, snacks, and fried and other unhealthy foods. While protein shakes are good for added protein/ post workout / b4 bed, the majority of your calories needs to come from natural food. If you're having trouble then you need to see a ditetician and get things in order.
