Left Pec/Armpit Pain

I have this knotted up feeling in the left side of my arm pit. I can't tell if it's in the Biccep/Tricep/Pec tie in or what. Any time I do any type of chest work and some types of tricep extension stuff it bothers me. Nothing too severe, just enough to screw up my balance and concentration. It's starting to concern me though, because it stays sore long after me chest does after working it. I am currently hitting my chest once every seven days, so I don't think that I am overdoing it... I may have tweaked it somewhere a long the line. Any thoughts out there in forum land would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

"I have this knotted up feeling in the left side of my arm pit"

Hey man,
I have had several bodybuilders and even my trainer, who's a world class powerlifter and bodybuilder describe the same feeling to me right before they tore there pec. Not trying to scare you, but you should probably get it checked out and maybe let up on the weight a little. Physical Therapy might be an option b/c I was having a weird feeling in my shoulder which prevented me from going heavy on chest and shoulder days, so i've since been to physical therapy and its gotten significantly better.

That sounds similar to what happened to me a few weeks before I partially tore my pec major. I'd be be extremely careful about what I was a doing, and preferably seek some professional advice......my .02 though....don't try and see what you can do because once that goes you'll be in a world of hurt....

thanks

Thanks for the reply guys. It's actually at it's all time painfull right now as I write this... and I am better able to pinpoint the area. It's actually in the arm, on the inside were it would actually touch the outside of my pec. I guess I always thought it was the pec because I do my benching with my elbows really tucked close to my body and I guess the inside of my arm would tend to rub the outside of my pec... it just alwys felt like it was in the armpit. It's hard to explain, but I can feel it good right now... it's a slight throb in the inside of the arm. Anyway... I have an appointment this Saturday with a ART guy who I have had really good luck with shoulder and elbow problems. I am keeping my fingers crossed... it just feels like I can't get any blood in there and I am hoping the treatment will help.

Well i thoght that i was the only one with that problem. had it in my left pec but i went to my cyropractor and got some theraphy, massage and some ultra sound and it helped big time. But then i got the same pain but worse on my right pec and I feel it going into my armpit then in to my bicep area. I can't do bench at all i can only do certain movements. I have been meaning to go back to my cyropractor but am short on cash. One more thing that i realized is that i started to get this problem with i started WINNY yup i now that for a fact cause i have always gone heavy and nothing 2-3 weeks in i get this problem. so if you are taking anything that mite DRY you out and TIGHTEN you up be careful just my 2 cents

If you are using any "chemicals " you should cease use immediately, consider ultrasound, and refrain from training your pectoralis with anything greater than a true 50% 1RM for at least 6-8 weeks.....frankly, I would just forget about training the pectoralis for 6 weeks but that just me.

Or you can choose to ignore the warning and suffer a complete rupture, and then have your arm clamped in a vise, your upper arm drilled, steel anchors inserted, and your pec sewn back on....and a good year's worth of recovery before you are normal.

Simple choice.

Also, avoid bench pressing with a barbell when you get through this. You are not biomechanically suited for the movement which seems fairly commonplace for a number of people.

Most important - tendon problems are exacerbated by steroid use.
