I had an accident at my job last fall (november), fell out of he back of a semi trailer and screwed up my left hand..... The last doctor I went to said that I had injured the tendon that goes through the knuckel (sp?) to my midde finger,,, but thy never did an MRI,, only X-rays..... This went on for several months, and it stayed swelled,,,, finally the doctor injected something into it to make the sweling go down, which worked,,, but it still hurt like hell.... After he did that he stopped my therapy...

My hand has yet to stop hurting, the swelling has come back, and I have very little grip strength,,, I can only hold a 15lb dumbell with it.... My concern is that it was the job I left nearly 5 weeks ago, and on the 10th of last month I had a message on my machine from the doctor reminding me that I had a Doctors appointment for it that day (after I left the job), but like a dipshit, I never called him back,, It had gotten better, so I felt it was on its way back to getting better..... I kept going to the gym, but used the hand very little,, hardly at all,,, did mostly cardio and legs, so Im sure I didnt re-injure it..... Im concerned because Im going to start a new job next week (thursday) but I ne to return to the doctor for my hand.... If I start a nw job,, will that affect the workmens comp issue,,, Im thinking about speaking to a lawyer,, but didnt know if it would be pointless because I missed the last doctors APP... Any insight would be appreciated... THANKS

Not true. Many lawyers/firms charge by the hour. Look for someone between $150-250/hr.

Ouch... Theres no way I could afford that,,, unless they waited until it was done.... I mainly want to get my han taken care of,,, Im not concered with a settlement... I emailed my formr employer severatimes about this,,, but no response, So caled and left a couple messages; noresponse..Thats why I want to get a lawyer... Thanks

not true you can get a workers comp lawyer that wont charge you unless he wins his case, and if he wins he takes out of money he won if he does not win he dont get squat, he is there to make sure that all you problems are solved and if money is due he will get it for you, you just want to make sure that all your needs are taking care of, like doctors bills and long term affect on you injury

make sure its a workers comp lawyer, and you must make sure you keep good records of everything you do, like how many times you called your employer, what they said, did you get fired, are your bills getting paid, the more you have on them the easier it is for the lawyer to get more for you. good luck and make sure he or she is a workers comp lawyer. look in the phone book bro, half the fucking book is attorneys
