Lidocaine HCL Recipe

Has anybody ever made Lidocaine HCL injectable from powder? I was going to make some 2%.

I know some UGL's used to add some to reduce initial injection pain...I needed it for another use but thought I might see if anybody has brewed before.

The stuff I've seen looks water based...probably because it's frequently injected just under the skin with a very small needle but I'd almost be more tempted to go with oil just because of the reduced bacterial growth properties.

Found the typical pharma recipe. Working on ordering some powder and will test it out upon arrival.

Basically a multi dose Pharma formula will expire fairly soon. I'm reasonably certain a simple oil based is possible.

Lidocaine is practically insoluble in water, most time you see it gel form or cream form, it's probably suspended in oil and made into an emultion to create final product. It is soluble in oil, but don't know constant and it will vary between oils.
