Watching my dad die painfully was traumatizing. He was on a lot of medicine and even that didn’t help the last few weeks. He had no control of his body. He couldn’t breathe. If he wanted to go before that time, I would support it.I'm getting older and I've watched alot of people die. Do you think it's better to live through the pain until hospice puts you down with morphine or oxy and you spend the last week unconscious with no food or water?
Make no mistake we have assisted suicide already but we make you take the pain first.

I think it’s important to note that people who truly wish to die don’t know that it’s “selfish”. They simply want to stop hurting. Stop the mental pain. I think it’s selfish of OTHERS to make that person continue living. I don’t think it should happen Willy nilly though. I think they should try therapy and medicine first. But if those don’t work, let them leave the pain behind.
