Lost my job today

Amen dude.

The guy who promised me I'd have a job with the new company was outside the building (which is where my gym is too) talking on his cell.

I was done working out, pumped, tan, and pretty cut (had just taken off my shirt outside, to walk around the building and take in some sun as an afterworkout cooldown), wearing tough looking workout gloves.

This guy was a suck up and told me how impressed he was with my pipes at the 'welcome to *****' dinner two weeks before.

So I thought I'd ask him why he lied to me, or what changed, etc...

He saw me and did a Houdini I'm STILL trying to figure out. How he disappeared so fast, I have no idea.

But for me it was God's way of giving me my honor, and showing me he had none. He lived in fear and lies, unable or unwilling to face the truth.

Had he not promised me a job, I would not even be complaining, or wouldn't ask him a question. But I wanted to know. Now I know, he is without honor, and I'm glad not to work for a man without honor.

If nothing else, I had the satisfaction that he feared me, and I had no fear of him. It made me snicker, anyway.

Keep the faith, for God's plans are not our own. He knows what's best for you and He will guide you there. Peace and continue to keep your head up bro!

well I am probably one of the most honest persons around, I think I might give it a go, dont know about sitting in church, I am not affraid of anything well almost everything, I dont ask for anything so i will notbe asking him for nothing i just think I might need just a little guidence,

To be honest neodavid, they probably closed the call center because you talk wayyyyyyy too fucking much.... Look how long your posts are..... People are probably calling in for help with their computers and you are telling them to let God fix it...... The real world sucks ass stud, welcome to it...... That's why a lot of churches aren't good for you, cause they basically teach you to lie and hide your faults to fit in, to be a christian superstar.

If you can find a group of people not wearing masks, if they can keep it real, it's cool, but man, most churches are just not there from where I sit.

Find people who have miracles happening, not who have to make things up, you know... God is there, even if they are screwed up.

I go to revivals and conferences cause you meet REALLY cool people sometimes. That to me is the magic, to get to know other people who have God active in their lives.

Anyone trying to sell you God, man, avoid like the plague. This stuff is simply real, no need to sell it. I have a feeling you don't need that advice (grin).

A guy like you is already a lot closer to God than most church people. God LOVES honesty and being real, showing your faults to everyone... I love your honesty and openness, and I can feel God's heart about you. He likes you man. A lot. I wouldn't mess with you about that.

Dude, they didn't close it, someone else bought it, and everyone there loves me, and I never talk about God unless someone else brings it up.

Most of the time, nothing happened, and I had tons of free time, cause unless something was broken, there wasn't anything for me to do.

That means I'd go many days without talking to anyone.

That's why I like to talk to you so much. Your such a ray of sunshine, I have to close my eyes when you bend over, for the rays of light coming out of your ass.

I am glad you said in your post to find a good church. I know that you think the church is full posion, but to tell you the truth there are a lot of very good churches in the world. I know as a pastor I am not one to spread lies to make people be something they are not. As you know the church is not a building, but the people. Sad to say that there are some very very bad churches out there, and I would have to say to those churches that God is watching, and watch out! God is still using the church.

Candle making... don't know what that means, but my guess is it's some kind of insult, I mean considering the source (no offense).

It must be hell to live in a life where all you have to offer is venom and evil, even stooping so low as insulting and kicking a guy when he's down, just to make yourself feel better.

New company bought our call center, they don't like how much money I was getting paid. Can't blame them, for my town it was way too much, but you get used to the cash.

Looked up unemployment, don't know how they figure a guy could live even a month on that. Doesn't cover even my house and food. Max bene is $329 a week! My house, insurance, etc., is $1000. Sheesh, that's bad figuring on their part. Should be 2/3 of your salary or something useful. I paid in for 24 years solid... hello? Where is all that money? (grin)

Anyway, it was funny, cause last night all of a sudden I had this fear of losing my job. I sat down and just felt BAD, because I couldn't believe I'd sunk so low in my walk with God that I feared something on this earth.

So I sat down and really talked to God and told him this sucked, that I was sorry, and even embarrased about it. He showed up really strong and it got sorted out as best it could. Mostly him comforting me.

How freaky is that, I mean rather, how cool is that, that God always prepares you, and if you listen you can be aware of it.

Anyway, the HR lady was SO nervous when she started to tell me, it didn't take a rocket scientist to see I was being let go. My boss and his boss were online, and I said, "did I do something wrong?", and they said, no, you got raises cause everything was fine, but we aren't in your town anymore now that the other company bought that call center.

So at least I get 6 weeks severance, if I obey their rules (which probably amount to "Don't cause us any trouble").

This is weird, cause last time I left a job, it was cause God told me too, and the same day, without me looking for one, I got this one, which paid 55% more money, and about half the work. This time, it wasn't my choice, so it's different somehow.

I'm glad I paid my gym membership in advance (grin) for 3 months. Getting lazy now would be too easy, cause it would cost money to work out, you know? So I'm glad for that.

VDC, 11, and all the guys who are into God, appreciate your prayers about the future. All the rest, thanks for any good thoughts. Whether you call it love or God, it's all the same to me.

Sorry to hear about your job loss. I work in IT as well and know how bad the job market is. I was without a job for awhile and I felt terrible the entire time. I hope you find a good job quickly.
