Low resting heart beat and blood pressure

I have a resting heart rate of 55 right now as I am typing this and my bp is 110/65. This has been going on for at least 6 months maybe longer. From what I can remember my heart rate has always been around 70. What could be causing it to dip down so low and is this a problem? I have had an ekg recently and it was ok.

your heart rate and blood pressure are great. Have you ever been light headed? have you ever fainted? If so, you could have bradycardia in which case you need to see a cardiologist.

If this is new don't sweat it, chances are it is nothing!. But if you get other symptoms go see a cardiologist or get a referral.

To be honest, I feel slightly light headed/anxious. But its nothing terrible but its there. I had an ekg, some blood work and xrays to confirm no heart problems a few weeks ago but he was not a cardiologist. I have lost about 15 lbs since last year, but I wasnt fat then. Im 5ft7 143-145lbs right now. Thats the only thing I could think of causing the difference.

EKG can only diagnose certain things. However it is a good thing you had it done, That rules out a lot of stuff,

Anxiety causes light headedness for sure along with a million other symptoms,

I doubt there is anything wrong but I would see your MD. You might be able to get one of those real time heart monitors that measure heart rate 24/7. That will tell you if your rate gets really low when you are sleeping.

keep us informed!

Good luck and try not to worry too much!

Thanks, Im sure the anxiety is causing a lot of it. I see the low pulse and Im like OMG. But I have been walking about 5 miles a day for the past 3 months or so. This combined with the weight loss may be doing it. Is there a certain number I should get worried about if it gets down to it?

awake hr should be 45 and above--- qyestionis does hr decrease when you are sleeping? If it gets into the 30s cardiokogist get worried, You need to see a cardiologist for peace of mind if nothing else.

Your not taking a beta blocker or other meds that could slow your hr??

Check your Aldosterone levels this can be your Adrenals are not working right or not being told to work right.

What is your daily calorie count on the low carb diet you're doing?

My calorie intake is prolly 2000 at best prolly 1800. I have had my thyroid and adrenals checked but will get them checked again. I do take xanax for my anxiety.

xanax won't lower hr it might lower bp if you are all anxious.

low hr and low bp probably related but not related to xanac.

light heaed = related to anxiety almost certainly!

Thanks for the reassurance. Im pretty sure everything is ok. Im going through some changes in my trt for those who havent followed my story. I feel this is causing some anxiety. I went from injections every 3d to test cream and now back to injections eod. I think my test levels are prolly bottomed out right now because Ive only been on injections for one week.

A low HR and reduced BP are part of the benefits of a low-carb diet and they usually kick in after you've been on it a while. Both are due to the reduction in your basal insulin level that comes from the way you're eating. It all happened to me too.
