Major disappointment

I've experienced a major set back. About two weeks ago I was doing squats and I was trying to cut back on the rest between sets. I was resting only about 90 seconds between sets. On my last set, I leaned forward a little to much and felt a pull in my lower back. For the last two weeks I've been doing leg presses and hack squats inplace of the squats. Today I was doing shrugs and still felt the pain in my lower back. What sucks is I'm going to have to cut out squats, deadlifts, stiff-legged deadlifts, and shrugs until this heals, talk about disappointment. These are the basic lifts for my mid-back to lower body. Any suggestions out there?:(

Yep - go drop $30 at a chiropractor and get adjusted. A good one is worth their weight in gold. (And my chiro is like 350lbs, so that's alot of gold).

The only time it gets sore is with the above exercises. I'll just train around them until they're healed. I need a change anyway, I'm not wild about leg presses and hack squats, but they're better then nothing. I'll give it about a couple of months and ease back into the above exercises.

What? Why?

Dude, drop $30 and go see a chiro. The guy could have you back squatting in a couple days. I don't understand how someone can drop $50 per month to a lousy 24 hour fitness and $500 on a cycle and not go to a chiro and get adjusted or get treatment on a hurt back?

That would be nice if all I had to do is drop thirty dollars on a chiropractor, the chiropractors around here want to do x-rays and evaluations. Those are were the bigger dollars come in. Last time I went to the chiroprator because of a back injury in judo, the first visit cost four hundred dollars. I then had to go back two to three time a week for about four weeks at sixty dollars a pop.

Started back squating today, I took it easy and no pain to mention. I started really light and stayed there. I'm going to ease back into it and go slow. I went to the doctor today and in the three weeks of not squating or deadlifting I lost seven pounds, yikes. It felt good to squat again, it is like no other exercise.

Do you live in Manhattan?

There's no way you shouldn't be able to find a chiro who will just do an adjustment for about $30.

Either way, good luck on your recovery.
