I am new to making my own gear and would like to know why If I am making my gear from a kit and I am using pharmaceutical grade hormones why do I need to filter the gear and bake it?

It's for your protection to make the solution as sterile as possible.

If you're making something that is going to be injected into your body, you should not even consider taking any shortcuts. It may seem like over kill, but this is not an endever to even consider if you don't make sterility the top priority.

true...I used baking mostly to try & remove excessive amounts of BA.

have you gotten your powders yet? if you havnt look at how they are packed, it is not sterile.
