Making the switch to powerlifting, Gobuckeyes 2017 log

Wooooooow nelly!!!!!! 2x1 425 squat for a PR. And I could have went heavier but didn't. These knee sleeves are fucking awesome!!! It makes me realize how shitty the gear I had was. I can't wait to squat again now lol next week is a deload week tho so it will be a couple weeks before I lift heavy again. I'm actually looking forward to it also, my body needs a break.
 
Some guys like smelling salts others don't. They aren't going to help you lift any extra weight but may help you focus.

I don't use them anymore as they made my eyes water which was more harm than good for me.

Horrible start to my day, car started overheating on the highway. I coasted as far as I could and ran 3 red lights but I made it to the gym lol But my lifts where on point today. I was suppose to bench 3x1 315 but 315 felt light, so on the last set I loaded 335, and got it!!! Nice pause at the point and everything. I almost didn't complete it, I got it halfway up and stalled for a second before finished it and locked it out. It was weird bc it felt like my back helped me finish it. I'm on cloud 9 tho and feel awesome. I'm on a cruise right now so I can't wait to see what I lift in 3-4 months when I'm on tren again.
 
Overhead press day 2x1 215. I'm only 10 pounds off my goal for the year. I should hit 225 in 2 months since I'm adding 5 pounds a month. I'm making nice slow steady gains, I definitely realize this is a marathon now and not a sprint. I'm going to hit 465 tomorrow on conventional deadlift then I think I might try pulling sumo style for awhile on deadlift. I've been reading and watching videos on it, they say it's more technical. I just wanna change it up and see if it helps me pull conventional when I switch back.

Oh shit!!! I almost forgot, those fucking smelling salts as bad ass!!! I wish someone would have told me they burn like hell tho if you stick your nose right on it like I did the first time lol. After that I just waved it back in forth in front on my nose, it definitely gave me a boost of energy and laser focus for a min or 2. I'm glad I bought them but I'll only use them on heavy sets/max attempts.
 
Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck. I failed at 465, I got 455 3 weeks ago and it felt good but I was also just ending my cycle so I don't know if that has anything to do with this. I broke it off the ground but only got it up 2-3 ins bf I stopped. It wasn't my grip that failed, I'm just not strong enough/fast enough off the floor. I know i could have locked it out if I had got it up. I might stop lifting on Wednesday also to see if that helps me on Friday. Next week is my deload and I'm looking forward to the break from lifting. I've been pretty tired lately, haven't had a day off work in 3 weeks, and my body is telling me to take it easy for awhile.
 
Forgot to add this. I weighted 212 this morning, that's the lowest I've been in years and you can really start to see my abs and definition now. I'm not even trying to cut anymore really but I'm still dropping weight. I haven't really adjusted my diet but I'll have to start adding in more calories if I keep failing on lifts.
