What a long ass day it was. I live in southcentral La. where we run the traditional Mardi Gras out in the country and chase chickens and drink beer all day long. Cut flips in the crawfish ponds and dive and wrestle in the ditches, dance with many fine women from all over the country and world. Throw beads for the parade at the end of the day and get to see many pairs of boobies. Can't remember how many kisses I got for beads. The only day of the year you can drink beer and piss on the side of the road in public in front of anyone, including the police that run too, and noone gives a shit. You can litter and raise hell and everyone loves it.

I got to pull the beer trailer this year through the run and got to keep 56 cases of beer that was left over out of 2000. What the hell am I going to do with all of that? Hmmmmmm!!!

New Orleans is alright, but they don't get crazy like the small towns do. It's so much more fun.

Just letting ya'll know how my day went. I also posted some pics a few post down. Check them out. We coonass's get some wild here in da Swamps.

Anyone esle went to a Mardi Gras?

that sounds like a blast. I am going to mardi gras some day. Hopefully next year. I have been saying that for the last 10 years :mad: . You can send me the extra beer :)

The mardi gras where I live isn't that exciting, but still fun, even though I didn't get to participate this year(wont fly with th gf). Thick I've been saying the same thing but I don't know if I'll ever make it. :confused:

Ive been to 3 times but i have always heard that the small town tradional ones were best.

Hey Drip ill bring down some KY moonshine next year if in the big ez, and now is time to make plans as far as a good hotel room goes. And trust me that is the best way to spend your weeks vaction anywhere in the U.S.!


LoL last time i went on fat tuesday i passed out on the back porch at the House of Blues, killed after a weeks bender. I swear that was the most hardcore 1 week drunk i ever had and the drive home was a bitch with what was about a 2 day hangover.
 
At the halfway point in the run, we serve boudin to all the runners at around noon. These are a few pics of my truck loaded with beer, and some taken at the boudin stop.

By the way, that's not me with the big mustache, that's one of the beer men. It's obvious who I am in the pics.

I don't know what other kind you've seen, cause they all include costumes, mask, beads, dancing, drinking, and having a good time.

Just because we wear long pointed hats don't mean discriminiate against any race. People from all races all over the world come over to run with us and we all get along and have fun.

Buddy I was joking about the KKK, but that Mardi Gras still looks sorry.
 
that looks like a great time drip. only thing i was disappointed by was the lack of naked women!! i'm sure they were there, you're probably keepin it PG for the younger members lol


been to mardi gras a couple times, and man did that city chew me the fuck up and spit me out. great times down in LA.

Where are you from. I'm from the same area. Actually I was in Mamou this mardi gras. Is that where these pics are from?
 
As a former LSU student, there is no better place to throw a party then New Orleans. It's a shame the Superbowl wasn't there every year. Mardi Gras is such a great time and I encourage anyone who likes that party scene to make a trip down there. Make your hotel reservations early though.
