Meso Cigar Corner

Where did your guy's cigar experience begin? How does one get into cigars?

Mine started from an old employer, he would pull me and the service manager from the dealership in the middle of the day to go have a smoke at the shop down the street, started there, added more, then learned to love the differences between the different types of tobacco.

I smoked primarily non Cuban cigars for the first few years, then dabbled in Cubans a little and they fit my flavor profile better....

My addictive ass personality took it to the extreme like everything that I get into and loaded up. Sold it all about a year and a half ago, was up to about 250 unopened boxes. Kept all the loose stuff and one special box, an August 2007 box Of Punch Punch, which is the year and month I quit drinking. I smoke one every year on August 26th.... it’s the one smoke a year that is for sure gonna happen.

I don’t smoke much now, maybe had 3 while at home this year. 10 on a golf trip to Mexico and Cuba....

I remember the movie "The Stranger" with Edward G. Robinson, Loretta Young, and Orson Welles....Robinson smoked a cigar. But there were a lot of films where cigars were being smoked. The appeal of a classy fedora and a cigar just stuck with me. I even bought a classy fedora. An expensive Italian made one.

Ah okay gotcha, yeah I can definitely see the charm. Thanks for sharing.

Got into the cigar scene when some rich guys I was guiding on hunting trips busted out their humidors. Haven't had the finances in awhile to indulge but things are rolling so why not? Looking forward to this stick after supper. 15745466289421561307165774753647.jpg
Should be tasty!

I recently discovered KFC 'kentucky fire cured'.
Those and liga privada no9 are my faves.

Quality control is questionable for most cubans ive had. Some are great and sone are not so much, same brand, same box...

This is very true. Although I’ve smoked a fuckload of them and had to pitch maybe 5-7 but man it sucks when it happens.

Best cuban ive had was hoya de Monterrey epicure #2 i think is the name. Very nice and leathery.
Try that KFC though, unique!

Ive bn enjoying about 2 cigars/wk for the past 4-5 yrs. I dnt feel too horrible about it
