Messy Injection, What to do?

Today my injection didn't go so well. I did a quad injection and after pulling out, quite a bit of blood came out of the needle hole. Now I am guessing some of the test cyp came out as well, but I have no idea how much.

My question is what should I do now? Should I inject another 50mg (doing 100 mg/week) to compensate? Should I wait a few days then inject again? Should I just leave it and do extra days of hCG? Or should I just do nothing at all?

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

The same thing happened last week too, but in the other leg. These are the first two times I have tried injecting toward the outer side of the quad (rather than just right in the middle).

I had the same experience. It was awhile ago, but what you've said about moving towards the outside of the glute sounds familiar. I would get a two or three inch drizzle of blood, which smelled heavy of the cottonseed oil in the depo-test. Likewise, my band-aids would often smell heavy of cottonseed or have a large blood blot. Memebers on another board said it might have something to do with scar tissue. I'll warn you, though, after a couple experiences like that, I ended up in the middle of a vein and had to pull out. I think each time you see that much blood, you've peirced past one.

shoot in a different spot next time..... u passed through a blood vessel.............and i hope your asperating...... and i dout it's from scar tissue..................

BigRagu is probably right when he said you passed through a vein on the way in. In other words, the "leak" is probably above the area where the medication is. So nothing important came out (well, except blood). That happened to me once too, and I just stuck to my regular schedule with no ill effects.

Having some blood come out is very common. It probably happens to me 25% of the time or more. That doesn't mean that the oil came out. Use the z-track method if you want to make _certain_ no oil leaks out in the future.

I had a problem with my previous two injections of a bit of oil coming out. I shoot in the outer as well - as I can see the surface veins quite well in that area and can usually avoid them. It was recomended in another thread that I try the z-track method - it worked like a charm. Not a drop of oil. The injection site is a little more sore today than usual - not sure if it is a corelation or not.

Are you guys contracting the muscle or something? If so, then don't do that. And make sure you are injecting deep into the muscle. That requires a 1.5" pin for glutes.

No contraction and deep in quad muscle. Blood just was kind of spurting out after the needle was removed. Should I do the injection again?

If you are doing 1x per week then I would just wait until next week. The half life is about 7 days so you should be covered for the most part anyway. I've had the same thing happen to me before and I was fine. Now I typically wait about 30 seconds before pulling the needle out to make sure the test has had time to mix in there.

I have blood spurt out all the time, but not much oil, if any.

My opinion is that you should wait until next week.

Alright guys, I appreciate your advice a lot and will follow it.

It is so nice to have guys like this to consult when you got a problem that know what they're talking about.
