Minimizing Sarcopenia during GlP medication

Hey guys,

I’m trying to minimize sarcopenia (muscle loss) and still gain muscle while on Wegovy. I know Wegovy can sometimes reduce appetite, so I’m worried about not getting enough protein or calories for muscle growth.

Could you share your best advice or experiences for:
  • Foods or recipes that are both muscle-friendly and palatable (so I actually want to eat them)?
  • How to balance protein intake and satiety when appetite is lower?
  • Any tips for building muscle while on Wegovy (supplements, timing, training)?

Also, is it possible to gain muscle while on Wegovy, or should I focus more on maintaining muscle mass?
 
I would argue resistance training is the most important factor in retaining muscle during a calorie deficit.

Train at least a couple times a week. Make sure to target each muscle group in those sessions. MOST importantly put real effort into your sets, doing a weight you can maybe only do 6-10 reps with.

But yes prioritize protein intake aswell.
