Mountain Biking

Rode a bunch back in the late 90s and just got back into it a couple years ago. This summer has been all mtn biking (5x a week) and camping. Luckily, my wife rides too. That way, I (usually) don’t get grief for disappearing all day to ride in the high-country. Just picked up a new trail bike at the beginning of summer. Evil Offering. 160mm travel up front, and 141mm in the back. So plush basing the descents. Climbs pretty damn good too, considering the long travel.

That’s awesome. Thanks for the knowledge. I’m looking forward to buying my first real bike. Also going to buy a decent kayak. And a good fly rod.

I don't know about mountain bikes at my physical therapist. They set up bikes to you so that you get the best ride out of it ergonomically and for power. I think it's geared more fore road racing. Not sure the cost but they always have someone getting set up when I'm in there

You got it. Check out pinkbike as well as craigslist of course to try and find a deal. Everyone is riding bikes this summer, so the 2nd hand market (and new for that matter) is very hot. With the end of summer approaching, folks may be unloading their bikes. Heck, my wife and I sold our old bikes this summer in 3 days, at 60% what we paid between 2-3 years ago.

Awesome on the kayak and fly rod. Another great way to get outside! Outdoor retail is absolutely booming this summer. Due to COVID, nobody is flying and staying in hotels. Everybody is buying campers and outdoor gear.

Too funny. I got a bike fit this summer from a PT place where the bike fitter works. Honestly didn’t really do much for me, and kind of expensive for what it was. Raised my seat a tiny bit and moved it back a touch. But, if you have injuries it’s probably the way to go.
