MP's Meet Training Log 3rd Edition

Doubt if I do a log for a bench only meet if that is what ends up being next but when I do another push-pull or a full meet I will start another one. In the mean time I will catch up with most of you in the powerlifting thread or your own training logs.

Sorry to hear about your meet and the injury leading up to it. I would be pissed, but i am almost certain that would be my luck exactly. I would have hit pr's leading up to the meet, looking to hit 1700, and then i would get a nice back tweak that would allow me to hit a whopping 375 on my bench and eat that as my total for the weekend.
Injuries suck ass and i wish you all avoid them as best you can. At the age some of us are getting it is like getting kicked down the hill again and having to start over.

So, look forward to hearing about that dl heading back toward 600.

Im glad I only had 500 on the bar instead 600 of DD. Back got worse as the warm ups got heavier and I wasn't in proper position starting the pull and it ended up being a major stiff leg . Could have caused some real ugliness for my lower back if there was an extra hundred on there.

Only reason I'm not overly pissed is this was a set up for my next meet when I will have turned fifty. That is where I need to hit my numbers to set some national records (fed specific but it will be one of the major feds) and they will put me in the top couple in the nation in the over 50 category as opposed to now when I'm in the top twenty in the over 40's.

Hopefully the pec issues are behind me. I will nurse the back and glute along for several weeks and I'm confident they will resolve themselves.
