My liver and chol levels

This is mainly for SWALE. He was concerned about my cholesterol levels on my last test. Well, just had a test on friday for liver and Chol for my Accutane refill. My Triglycerides and LDL both went down a bit, my HDL jumped up 14 points and my liver values are all in the green still! WOOHOO!! I'm still planning on switching to the Carson's fish oil and upping my dose a bit.

BTW, HRT has done wonders for my BP too. It's always been a little bit elevated for my whole life....130-140/70-80 area. Ever since starting it has been dropping steadily. Friday it was 112/80 and today it was 116/62. HR today was 57 just after sitting down and not even getting a chance for it to stabilize after the walk back.

I think that's cool!!

I love that Carlsons fish oil. I cannot believe that the stuff actually tastes good!! I actually look forward to it now.

They will get better! Once I'm off this damn accutane that should help the LDL and triglycerides. Adding in the Carlsons will help immensely too.

Where's the best place to buy Carlsons fish oil? Thanks.
I've purchased from mercola.com at a reasonable price in the past. I'm not aware of too many places selling online:

This is crazy...I just bought a 32oz bottle of their top notch stuff. Carlson's sells it for $42 on thier website. I paid $31 at a natural foods co-op where stuff is usually more expensive! WTF? Haven't tried it yet though.

SWALE, do you recommend just the 1 tsp dose/day or should I do more?

Really not that uncommon of a situation. It probably just means the store buys in bulk and is willing to accept possibly a lower margin as well. It would also indicate that Carlsons probably focuses much more on their wholesale as opposed to retailing. You can find this on practically any supp seller that sells direct retail as well as wholesale to other sellers. It isnt unique to the supp industry either..........price some Nike stuff from their direct retail and compare it to the stores you can buy at.

ANY that you take will be great for you. Personally, I make sure I get 10 grams of long-chain omega-3's each day. That is 2 tablespoons (one with breakfast, the second before bed with my protein drink) and change (from other sources in my diet).

Well, I've been using the Carlson's for three days now. I have to say that I much appreciate the lack of fishy burps!!! However, I just can't get over the texture! Something about drinking oil is just kinda gross to me. I'll still take it but won't like doing it. I'm currently thinking of ways to combine it with something so that the texture will be hidden. Any suggestions?

You can blend quite a bit of oil into a protein drink and never know it's there. You know, smoothie-type concoctions made from protein powder, milk, berries, etc.

I think the large Carlson's fish oil is only $27 or so from vitaminshoppe.com.

I've been using fish oils for 10 years now but always with capsules. For all I know though, I'm full of mercury!

As for the texture of oil, when I was a skinny teen, sometimes I'd take straight olive or vegetable oil to help gain weight. I don't use veggie oil anymore, but sometimes still take straight olive oil during the winter to bulk a bit. I like it! :D
