My regaining fertility after TRT log

36 year old male, no history of AAS use before TRT. Generally in good health but symptoms of low T from early 30s.

Started dr prescribed TRT 2 years ago with the following protocol
- 125mg Test E weekly (split into 3 weekly shots)
- 1500iu HCG weekly (500iu 3x per week) -hoping to retain some sperm

Loved the TRT. Working out 5x per week, best shape of my life. Best mental state of my life, smashing it in work and got my confidence back in all other areas.

Had semen analysis before starting
- 80 million per ml
- all other measurements good
- 5 straws frozen for backup

Now wife and I want to get preggo...

Semen analysis taken 12 weeks ago while still on my TRT/HCG. Hoping the HCG would have preserved some
- totally azoospermic, no sperm in chamber

Busy in work etc. didn't prioritise getting to the doc and continued for a few weeks but saw Dr 8 weeks ago and stopped TRT
- 0 test "cold turkey"
- increased dose HCG to 5000iu weekly (1666iu 3x per week)

Ran that for 8 weeks, another semen analysis.
- totally azoospermic, no sperm in chamber

Saw Dr next day, he took bloods and added Clomid
- Clomid 25mg ED
- HCG 5000iu weekly (1666iu 3x per week)
- bloods drawn to check levels and get pre Clomid baseline

Clomid start was 3 days ago. I'm going away for a month in 3 weeks so he wants to see me again in 3 weeks to check bloods again and make sure my own test isn't going too high with the HCG/Clomid combo. He expects we might pull the HCG at some point but run the Clomid for 8 weeks before semen analysis again.

Would love to hear any thoughts or feedback. Looking at PCT threads I reckon I haven't done this perfectly but I am where I am and want to go forwards and succeed. Reading that for some Clomid 25mg EOD is better?
Emotionally/mentally since stopping the TRT I've been up and down, definitely not as stable/clear as on the test. But physically/energy/libido wise I'm doing good.

Clomid fucked my shit up. I still have eye floaters 2 years later. You need rFSH. If you can't afford it you can't afford a baby.

I have a two month old. I just used 1000 IU rHCG 3x week/ 75 IU rFSH 3x per week and a dab of growth (not required). You need to be consistent because it takes months and months and you will be tempted to mess with the formula whenever you get a bad sperm test.

Clomid is old school. Show your doctor some of the studies showing Enclomiphene works better for fertility. There are many.

Did he explain what "too high" of test could mean? Fertility is directly correlated with testosterone production. Everything I've read says higher is always better. I wouldn't be worried at all if he's insinuating that slightly high testosterone is bad for you health temporarily.

You need Enclomiphene, Clomid is trash to be completely honest. Unfortunately Enclomiphene is still in clinical trials and not FDA approved yet, so if you are on TRT through your primary care doctor you won’t be able to get a script. You’d only be able to get it through a TRT clinic which gets in through a compounding pharmacy, or online through a black market steroid source. If you’re not willing to do that then just go with the Clomid and hope for the best that you don’t run into its negative side effects. 5000 iu of HCG stacked with Clomid sounds like gyno city in my book lol.

You 100% need rFSH though, or at least HMG. FSH is the main driver when it comes to sperm production.

I’d recommend using injectable L-Carnitine as well, research proves it’s really effective at improving sperm motility and shape.

Stopped cold turkey after few years of using aas, took about 6 months to get back my natural test production and then another 6 month to get pregnant, did not use any meds, I think they might help , but your body will recover just takes time, good luck

Androxal was abandoned after several FDA rejections a decade ago. Some Chinese companies started to make it in the not so distant past because it's probably a good drug.

Was your estoidal through the roof with that much HCG? Half that dose and 150mg Test put me in the high 40 range

There's some weird doctor info, but I've been in the same position, and think i found a winning protocol. You can make it more complicated, but these are the basics.

Stop test.
Week 1-4 hcg
Week 1-X... 12.5-25mg enclomiphene. Run until pregnancy.
