I've been back in the gym now for .. i think about 4 weeks,i feel good, and i see the weight coming back. Now i just desided i want strength. I have been getting it but now all i care about is strength. I would actually like to stay my weight .. well maybe about 10lbs but that won't be hard, but i just want pure strength. .. What program or technique has given you the most strength? By the way,i love this vascularity from the EQ. My veins are always petruding from my skin and when i was curling the other day,i thought one was going to pop. My veins usualy show in certain spots but not like this :)

I've been working the 5x5 for a few weeks now. But I've done a couple of things wrong. I got out of the habit of keeping a journal. So I scrawl a few notes here and there when I get home. But I'm not keeping good records. So rather than set PR's I'm bouncing around depending on my mood, etc. So I've plateau'd on my squat. I haven't moved at all in 2 weeks. Well, I've moved up and back down, and up again...

I've been thinking about trying this Canadian Automotive Unnatural Euphemistic... I don't know what its called but Canadian and Auto are in the name. It's a PL'ing strenght/speed program.

shit. I can't attach a word doc. PM me with your email if you want it.

im doing what your wanting to do just now.i finished my 5x5 cycle, took 3 weeks off for my hols, came back and am now doing the ed coan workouts as detailed over at deepsquatter(whether they are or not im not sure but its doing the job),i made slight changes to suit my needs and it seems to be doing the trick, just pb'd on the bench, deadlift, bent over row and military press, weighing 16 lbs lighter than my last pb,and on no juice either.
theres a link here to help out if you want your poundages and reps,to aim for

ill probably run this for a cycle or 2 then back to the 5x5 and then back again

MW,

There is a better way to go about adding pure strength than the Coan Western Periodization plan. Since you've been out of the game for awhile I would suggest doing 4 weeks of 5x5 first - starting conservative on all lifts and really start pushing it in week 3.

After that, let's talk about putting you on a modified Westside plan for raw strength.

I've been working on a raw bench program that is really doing wonders for my bench right now.

I've been at it for about 4 weeks now adding weight to each set and staying at 5-6 reps each set. I didn't read the 5X5 in detail so i'm not sure how close to this it is but this is what i'm doing now. My strength is coming back and i feel like i am warmed up enough to start really increasing the intensity. I just haven't been pushing myself very hard the last 4 weeks. Only one day i wanted to take each set close to failure and i was sore as hell the next few days.I was thinking of taking another week or 2 of intense sets just to really break myself in and then i'll start that program your talking about. How about another 2 weeks and then we talk about that modified westside program?
